Locustella fluviatilis
32 years since my only other U.K. sighting of this fantastic bird.
This confiding male has been delighting hundreds of birders and photographers at Ham Wall RSPB.
It favours one area of broken sticks in the extensive reedbeds, but on one occasion it flew nearer to our position, and chose to sing for a while :)
Is now shut to everything - including pedestrians. You can't even navigate a boat under the bridge! Worrying that until quite recently buses were going over the bridge. TfL and the council haven't even managed to organise a ferry replacement. So, as you can imagine, people are suffering grave inconvenience.
That is one of the two boats moored mid-channel to warn that passage under the bridge is prohibited.

The sunrise was something else this morning. In this shot (one of many) I particularly like the bright golden line snaking across low down).
You wouldn't think was in the midst of a busy city.
