Blue-and-white Swallows - a common species, endemic to Central and South America. Its primarily steel-blue or violet-blue back and its white underside earn it its name, yet its most distinguishing characteristic are the contrasting black undertail coverts. This small swallow, with a slightly forked tail and shorter wings, is resident throughout most of its range, but the southern populations are migratory.
Wishing everyone a nice week ahead and a nice Blue Monday!

Kirkstone Pass is a mountain pass in the English Lake District, in the county of Cumbria. It is at an altitude of 1,489 feet (454 m).
It is the District's highest pass traversed by road, the A592 road between Ambleside in Rothay Valley and Patterdale in Ullswater Valley. The road gradient approaches 1 in 4. The picturesque view down into Patterdale has Brothers Water as its focal point.
The Kirkstone Pass Inn stands close to the summit. Once a vital coaching inn, it now caters primarily for tourists. It is the third-highest public house in England.

The iconic red roofed cottage on Loch Torridon with the view towards Shieldaig and the Torridon Mountains
Just sitting on my deck and noticed this beautiful hoverfly sleeping on a million bell, only about 1” in diameter, like a miniature petunia.
… from my garden.

A peaceful little bay on Upper Loch Torridon
Loch Torridon (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Thoirbheartan) is a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland in the Northwest Highlands. The loch was created by glacial processes and is in total around 15 miles (25 km) long. It has two sections: Upper Loch Torridon to landward, east of Rubha na h-Airde Ghlaise, at which point it joins Loch Sheildaig; and the main western section of Loch Torridon proper. Loch a' Chracaich and Loch Beag are small inlets on the southern shores of the outer Loch, which joins the Inner Sound between the headlands of Rubha na Fearna to the south and Red Point to the north.
