Use any mixture of berries in this simple, quick compote. It tastes great with the raspberry torte and over ice cream or pound cake.

Back to Top‘'Tis the season of fresh berries and I found this amazingly easy recipe to use my fruit. I used strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. It was runnier than I was expecting so I tightened it with some arrowroot. It was scrumptious over a lemon pound cake I made. I also used it for breakfast on sourdough waffles in place of maple syrup. Too die for!

Delicious and easy recipe - I used frozen berries due to season, and I did notice it wasn't as thick as I would have liked so added a bit of corn starch until I had the consistency I was looking for. The result? An amazing, thick and decadent compote. I served with plain NY style cheesecake. Also great to make the night before and simply reheat before serving (or serve cold).

Made this for Easter and Mother's Day with Brioche French Toast everybody loved it. It's a great substitute for maple syrup. Very easy. http://huntershealthykitchen.com/2015/05/08/brioche-french-toast-with-berry-compote/

Delicious! I added a touch of creme de cassis and it was just wonderful. It looks/sounds like such a fancy recipe, but it's SO easy.

Super easy. I barely cooked the berries so they would keep some shape. Had it over bread pudding. Yum. Would be great with pancakes or French toast, too.

One of my favorite things to make for dessert! i pair it with angelfood cake and fresh whipped cream and it makes an easy yet elegant dessert (thats also pretty guilt free too!) i made it the day before ad pureed it with an imursion blender and then strained it for a beautifully colored smooth sauce! i also added about * strawberries that i quartered along with blu black and raspberries
