Spandau Ballet 'rapist' Ross Davidson tells court he filmed himself fondling women 'to spice things up' and fantasised about sex with sleeping women

Former Spandau Ballet star Ross Davidson told a court he filmed himself fondling women to 'spice things up'.
The 36-year-old wanted sex up to six times a night and would force himself on women who refused him, it is claimed.
Jurors heard the Scotsman was 'a bit of a sex symbol' after starring in the West End musical We Will Rock You about a decade ago.
Aberdeen-born Davidson became lead singer in Spandau Ballet in 2018 and was best known to fans as Ross Wild, jurors heard.
He filmed himself groping women while they slept and enjoyed role-playing rape scenarios, Wood Green crown court has heard.
He is accused of a series of sex offences against five women and raped three of them, it is claimed.
The offences are said to have taken place over a ten-year period between 2013 and 2023.
Jurors have heard that when he was interviewed by police Davidson maintained 'everything was consensual between him and the women concerned'.

Davidson continued his evidence at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday wearing a grey jacket with black trousers.
Charlotte Newell, defending, KC, asked Davidson about claims he filmed himself squeezing the second alleged victim's breast as she slept.
Davidson denied ever forcing the woman to take drugs or alcohol against her will.
Ms Newell asked: 'Were you forcing alcohol on her so that she would get drunk so you could abuse her?'
Davidson replied: 'Absolutely not, no.'
He described himself as 'experimental' in his sex life, adding: 'I'm moderate to experimental.'
'[The second complainant] was very open-minded. She came up with ideas she wanted to try and do.
'She'd wanted to be hit and stuff, and I said absolutely not.
'I would never force my will on anybody.'
The court heard he told her that he had a fantasy about having sex with a woman while she was asleep.
Davidson said: 'Call it a fetish, call it a kink, whatever you like.'
But he said that he had never actually wanted to have sex with someone while they were sleeping.
'I would find that a bit weird.'
Davidson admitted that she had asked him to delete the video of him allegedly touching her breast while she slept.
'She asked me to delete the video and I didn't.'
Davidson was then asked about the third woman, who he allegedly assaulted in Cannes while he was there for the film festival.
'I was in Cannes for the film festival,' he said.
'I had a small role in a film there.
'It's just a really great place to meet people in the industry and to watch some films.'
He told the court that he went to a party on a yacht with the woman.

'We went to a party on a boat. It was some Saudi money or something. It was quite decadent.
'We were touchy touchy with each other.
'I did fancy her and I was being tactile with her.'
Ms Newell asked: 'Were you spiking her?'
Davidson replied: 'Absolutely not. I find the suggestion abhorrent.'
He said that they kissed on the way back to his cousin's flat where they had been staying.
They had both been drinking and she started touching his genitals, Davidson said.
'I wanted to spice things up, so I said: 'Can I film your boobs'.'
'She said: 'Don't get my face in it'.'
Davidson agreed she had asked him to delete the footage and that he did not.
Davidson, of Finchley, north London, denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, and one of controlling behaviour.
The jury was directed to clear Davidson of one charge of intimidation relating to one of the complainants at the close of the prosecution case.
Davidson replaced Tony Hadley as Spandau Ballet's lead singer in 2018 after playing Elvis Presley in the hit West End musical Million Dollar Quartet, alongside the band's bassist Martin Kemp.
