Buy twice what you think you need - but WELL worth it!
See my before and afters! High traffic bathrooms with BOYS cannot have white grout. I have hand scribbed, bleached, bleach penned & more - and it still didn't come clean.This gray looks AWESOME against the tile & with the gray walls. i'm doing pantry next and have ordered beige for my two guest bathrooms to freshen up the 20yr old stained grout!A++++Use the extra tips that are sent for less clean up - I just used dry papertowel to wipe up as I went. Did a bout a 12" x 12" area at a time. These tiny tiles took a LONG time. About 3 hours.

My first pen (of 3) experience was a disaster. The tip was screwy (big props to the reviewer who mentioned the tips are double-sided because that literally saved my life), it deposited way too much ink onto the grout, the ink had difficulty coming off of the tile, the whole nightmare. So, moving forward, I finally found the right combo of how to make it work, and at sharing it here:
1) The pump-action of the pen tip is just to get the ink initially flowing through the tip—you do not have to keep pushing the tip while you apply the ink on the grout. Once the pen is primed, just draw over all your lines like it’s a regular old sharpie and you’re good
2) Some reviewers stated that you could leave the ink on tile for up to 24 hours before removing. They are liars! I found that even waiting the suggested 20 minutes dry time was too long. The 24 hours? Yeah... I tried that and almost lost my two thumb nails in the process of trying to remove the stuck-on ink. “Elbow grease” is an understatement of the power you need to remove those stuff if you wait more than an hour, period.
3) I found the most effective and efficient method of application to be to draw around your tile and then instantly go over the spillover with a dry paper towel. Now I know you must be like “wait this is contradictory to everything I’ve read.” And I hear you! It takes a tiny bit of trial and error, but SIGNIFICANTLY LESS error than if you were to wait the full time or longer and then try to scrub and scrub the leftovers off of your tile (which typically still results in the loss of grout ink as well). When you immediately wipe the sides of the tile, you immediately remove the excess. No scrubbing. No cursing. Just swipe-wipe-admire. Trust me. It took me THREE DAYS to do my shower enclosure using the method everyone including the manufacturer recommends. It took me under an hour to do my entire tub surround using my method.
