Office of Inspector General

In accordance with Section 20.055, Florida Statutes, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is responsible for activities that promote accountability, integrity and efficiency within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). These activities are comprised of investigations and audits pertaining to FDACS programs.

The OIG ensures that all complaints of a serious nature made against FDACS and its employees are thoroughly, completely and impartially investigated. We conduct investigations in response to complaints or allegations from citizens and employees concerning criminal or administrative wrongdoing. 

Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations. The OIG uses internal auditing to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes to help FDACS accomplish its objectives.
