To celebrate Pride Month, tonight we're lighting up our iconic rollercoaster Stealth for International Pride Day to show our support, shining loud and proud🌈🎢 At Merlin we're committed to celebrating, supporting and fostering inclusive communities. Not only does Pride Month provide us with an opportunity to come together to honour all identities, it also serves as a reminder that our journey towards equality and inclusion is ongoing and every step we take matters. Did you know we have a Thorpe Park Pride merchandise range where 15% of profits gets donated to our friends at Pride in Surrey?

Last week we welcomed Infinity Dogs CIC to the UK's most thrilling theme park so we could earn the 'Assistance Dog Educated' badge🐶🏅 We are privileged to be the first theme park in the UK to have earnt this badge! Infinity Dogs CIC delivered some pawesome specialised training to key guest-facing teams across Thorpe Park. The delivery of this theoretical and practical real-life interaction led training has enabled our teams to develop their knowledge on how to better support Assistance Dog Handlers and understand the incredible work those dogs do🐶 We strive to make sure Thorpe Park is easily accessible to all our guests, this includes making sure that Assistance Dog Handlers can also enjoy their visit🎢 Thank you to the team at Infinity Dogs CIC for taking the time to provide our teams with this specialised, valuable knowledge and highlighting the incredible work these dogs do!🐾

Did you know that today is World Ocean Day?🌊 In honour of this important day, across Merlin Entertainments we have been collecting rubbish from beaches, rivers and waterways to help create a better future by working together🤝 In the true spirit of our Merlin value 'Go Together' and supporting our friends at the SEA LIFE Trust's mission 'to protect our world's oceans', some Thorpe Park team members headed out to the River Thames this week to litter pick, helping towards building a more sustainable future for all🌍 We loved supporting and making a contribution towards this international awareness day!💙 Do you want to learn more about World Ocean Day and the SEA LIFE Trust? As the first week of June comes to a close, we can't help but think back to the previous month and what the month of May brought to our teams here at the Home of Feel-Good Thrills during our 'May Wellness Month'. What is Wellness Month?😌 Our Wellness Month was all about promoting physical and mental wellbeing. That can be anything from checking-in on yourself or checking-in on others to promote healthy conversations about wellness. Why is promoting this important?🤔 Simple gestures to check-in on yourself and others is immensely important. By seeing how others are doing and having an open, honest conversation about wellbeing will help us notice when the people around us need a boost. What is Thorpe Park doing to support?🤗 Whilst we had lots of activities take place during Wellness Month alongside the sharing of resources, the highlight of our monthly topic was the Therapy Dogs visiting our staff! These playful pups brought joy and comfort to our hard-working team, and we are excited to have them visit us again soon! We also delivered additional training to our managers to develop their skillsets in supporting conversations with team members, gave tips and tricks for our teams, and practised movement challenges to connect with the UK’s Mental Health Movement. Wellness was our topic for May, however this topic is a focus every month at Thorpe Park🎢 Remember the importance of asking those around you “how are you?”, take the time to check on one another and care for yourself and others.
