Community + Collaboration + Celebration + Change = Better Outcomes Reflecting on Black Inclusion Week, and the launch I had the privilege of contributing to at the Houses of Parliament has me feeling both energised and inspired! Here are some of the key things I took away... 👉🏾 Aggie's analogy: "A rising tide will float all boats." Focusing on Black Inclusion lifts everyone, intersecting with all other inclusion initiatives. Aggie, I'm borrowing this gem! 👉🏾 Andrew George's challenges and achievements in community engagement, he shared his journey as President of the National Black Police Association. It's inspiring to see leaders making real strides. 👉🏾 Jermaine Craig from Kwanda left a lasting impression on me. His challenge to young people and his candid shade towards corporates had us all thinking. Why wait 50 years for corporate equity when we can leverage technology to make changes ourselves? Jermaine, you are phenomenal, and your mindset is truly transformative. And as usual, the Black Talent Awards Family were out in full effect! 👉🏾 david mcqueen was the perfect host, asking tough questions while keeping us engaged and entertained. Kudos to you, David, for navigating such a critical discussion with ease and humour. 👉🏾 I want to share a special shoutout to Leon Donald, a Black Talent Award winner, representing Tesco and sharing the impressive growth of their Black Action project—taking their black supplier spend from £1m to £65m. That’s the kind of progress we need to see! It was also wonderful to see Bernadette T., Richard Kuti, Lee Chambers, Mahari Hay and Sope Agbelusi. Black Inclusion Week holds a special place in my heart. It’s a week to centre my community, celebrating our blackness unapologetically. Aggie, I'm so proud of you for creating this safe space for us to dialogue and celebrate. Black Inclusion Week is truly life-changing. I’m fully energised and loving the reflections from people about this whole week. It is amazing to be a part of. As I contributed to the panel, what I wanted to get across to every single person in that room, and to you now is: 🖤 You are essential. 🖤 You are resilient. 🖤 You are powerful. 🖤 You belong. 🖤 Your voice matters. As we wrap up Black Inclusion Week today, here's to continuing the conversation and making waves for inclusion! #BlackInclusionWeek
