At Marble we've been fascinated for a long time by the concept of community building and how, in a city like London which 8 million of us call home, it could be voted the loneliest place in the UK to live. We've spent a long time considering what it takes to enfranchise communities and how to bring people together. It sounds obvious, but one thing we know to be fact, is that it doesn't happen when we don't physically come together to experience things - enjoy them, converse about them, challenge them, and, well, live them. Barnet Council council and Related Argent approached us to make this happen in North London for Brent Cross Town. Like us, they recognise that games, being outdoors and having fun all contribute to people feeling connected to where they live and that connected communities contribute to a much bigger picture when we think about the role that wellbeing and happiness play in a positive economy. That sometimes it's simple things - just like we all observed last year at the Battersea Power Station Summer of Games - which spark joy and ignite in us the enthusiasm to leave the house and get involved. Our CCO Patrick Keogh shares his reflections on The Maze - our recently launched artist-led activation for Brent Cross Town, and his thoughts on the role of creatives in community building. Research shows that leaders are nine times more likely to be engaged in their role and 2.4 times more likely to stay at their company when they feel a sense of purpose. Somewhat unsurprising really, considering leaders are human too. And yet, leaders might start to feel a little less human and more in pursuit of superhumanness when numbers get involved, when they find themselves pressured to meet endless targets and spinning more plates than anyone can keep on top of, all whilst being the pinnacle of best practice in front of their team for whom they are seen as a motivator and guide. And if a leader isn't on top of their game, will the broader team stay engaged and high-performing? Our CEO Edward (Teddy) Watt explores this idea, what successful leadership does look like and ways to coach leaders into the necessary headspace for success in today's article: https://lnkd.in/gE652_5Q #BusinessLeadership #Leadership #SeniorLeadership #LeadershipSkills

The narrative of AI taking our jobs, creativity and skills is becoming one dimensional, we know there are too many nuances to simply conclude that it is either 1) a threat, or 2) an opportunity. Like Natasha Wallace, we choose to foster a little creative optimism. At our breakfast panel ‘Just Because We Can, Should We?’ the argument was this: let’s treat AI like the machine that it is, and allow it to take over the monotonous, time consuming aspects of our work (that we never wanted anyway), freeing up time for more fulfilling, valuable tasks and opening doors to possibilities that were not accessible before. Thanks to Natasha Wallace - EMEA Strategy Lead at The Brandtech Group, for this perspective. We’d love to hear from you too - tell us your thoughts on AI - do you see it providing risks or rewards, or a mix of both? #AI #AITools #ChatGPT #LondonTechWeek #TechWeek #AINews

We are entering the post-plastic era. Yesterday, PlasticFree's Head of Content Emma Grace Bailey and our very own CCO Patrick Keogh presented The Post Plastic Economy white paper in New York. This unique collaboration between PlasticFree.com and Fashion Snoops reminds us that plastic is yesterday's material and that there are better, more optimistic days ahead. It's now time for businesses to seize the moment and accelerate toward a new era of opportunity. As Sian Sutherland says about the paper: “This is a siren call, a rallying cry to the entire creative industry empowering them to rethink systems and materials” At Marble, we see every project as an invitation to make change and what we love about the white paper is just how cool the change looks. The truth about the Post-Plastic Economy: businesses can still turn a profit, deliver on performance and, perhaps most importantly, do something positive for humanity. Who ever said doing things differently couldn't deliver results? We believe that every experience holds the potential for transformation, and it's the magnetic power of gatherings and cultural moments that truly shape legacies for brands. Let us show you what this looks like in action. Take a glimpse into The Adyen Experience, produced by Marble. We crafted an experience that defied the norm and left a lasting impact by breaking away from the traditional conference setup that many B2B businesses rely on. The stunning setting of Frameless, the largest multi-sensory installation in the UK, perfectly showcased Adyen's commitment to innovation. From interactive activation areas to firsthand experiences with Adyen's services, we seamlessly blended art, technology, and thought leadership to showcase the brand as a leader in the fintech industry. The event featured thought-provoking panel discussions, including "The Future of Digital Payments," led by esteemed industry experts such as Adrian Davis from Adyen, Calvin Chen from Flywire, James Pearson from Lebara, and Amit Mallick from Accenture. This unique event marked a defining moment for Adyen, setting the stage for a transformative year ahead. Check out the impact we helped Adyen achieve here: https://lnkd.in/eNqN-gX3 #FinTechEvent #B2BEvent #B2BMarketing #FinTechCampaign #FinTechExperiential #FinTechBrand

Artists and creatives help us make sense of things. In fact, we would go further: artists reveal hidden truths, help us get beyond the literal, and challenge us to feel in a world obsessed with artificial measurement. The international news cycle exploded this week, as it does on the first Monday of every May, with red carpet images of those attending The Met Gala being broadcast across the globe. The critical reception to this event is irrelevant - good or bad. The Met Gala casts its spell. Serving as the glitz and glamour prelude to the Costume Institute's spring 2024 exhibition, this year's theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' is tantalisingly exciting. Spearheaded by the curatorial genius, Andrew Bolton, Sleeping Beauties appeals to our sensibilities as an agency. It appeals to our belief that the world in which we live is informed by the past. By history. And that it is only through a deep understanding and appreciation of things past that we can navigate the challenges and embrace the opportunities presented to us as human beings living today. To see, sniff and feel the possibility. The human stuff. In short: looking back allows us to look forward. And Sleeping Beauties and The Met Gala remind us of this. By harvesting the archives for hidden stories and forgotten narratives, Andrew Bolton and his team of creative collaborators have used technology and science and data to create something multi-sensory and truly modern. Creativity. History. Curation. Story. The imagination. Hope. This is what The Met Gala is really about. We are unbelievably lucky in our line of work to come into contact with some truly remarkable people. The bright. The bold. The kind. The brilliant. The mavericks. The outliers. Those pushing the creative envelope to new heights of possibility. Those taking a stance. A real position. Those thinking differently. The creative optimists.  Azeem Azhar Jemma Wong Arizona Muse Tiwalola Ogunlesi Sharmadean Reid MBE Amy Bourbeau Noelle Reno Camilla McFarland Natasha Wallace Abadesi Osunsade Suhair Khan Elaina Elzinga, CFA June Angelides MBE Dilys Kyeiwaa Winterkorn Sarah Le Cheminant David Tod Clare Jones Harriet Agnew Manon Dave Amanda Cassatt Alec Mills Eva Lindholm Mohamed Abdulle + so many others At this time of year as we edge toward festival season, we are reminded that we are in the business of people. Festivals remind us of that. These moments remind us that there is deep human joy in spending time with family and friends without agenda. And it's not simply the fact that these moments provide room for serendipity or happiness or escapism. The real truth is that these gatherings are not built on transactional foundations. Instead, these happenings provide the space for barriers to break down and for human connection to happen in a way that just makes sense. It allows us to encounter perspectives and views and generosity of spirit that might just change our lives. There's beauty in that. There's beauty in the gathering. Why does this matter? It matters because these moments breathe hope. Our job is to turn gatherings into moments and moments into legacies.

We believe every opportunity is an invitation to make change. And with the focus of this year's Earth Day on plastics, it's a great moment to recognise just how wrong we humans get it sometimes, but also put a light on the ingenuity that might just get us out of the plastic cul-de-sac. The change is coming but businesses and governments need to move quicker and more decisively to avoid an irreversible crisis. The facts are clear and out there: plastic is contributing to not only alarming levels of chemical poisoning in the natural world but also now threatening our own human health. That's the doom. However, there is some cool s**t going down, not only new materials being created and scaled without toxic modification but also great humans thinking differently about the way we want to live. If Plastic is a symbol of mankind's mono thinking, then a new era of diverse, cross-generational, cross-cultural, cross-industry thinking might just get us out of it. That's the power of people coming together. That's what great gatherings, events and real-world conversations do. These moments create the conditions for alchemy, serendipity, collaboration and action to happen. On the eve of the INC-4 meeting in Ottawa where a collective of representatives from world nations will gather to negotiate the text for the legally binding UN Global Plastics Treaty, we hope those in the room share our bias for creative optimism and demonstrate that these frameworks don't need to be weak and compromised. As businesses and individuals, we all have the opportunity to make positive change and we should take that responsibility seriously. Despite everything going on around the world, we have to hope and believe there are better days ahead. #creativeoptimism
