More than half of UK adults are concerned about fake news and AI interference in the upcoming election in July, according to a Havas Media survey. The study examined shifting consumer attitudes and behaviours during election periods and the potential impact on brands and consumer spending. Paul Bland, Chief Digital Officer at Havas Media Network, told The Media Leader that generative AI has "genuine implications for misinformation and deepfakes", with fake news already appearing in US and India elections. WE WON! 🏆 Our work with Starbucks UK has won a Campaign UK Audio Advertising Award in the Audio Advertiser of the Year (Brand) category 🧊 In a first-of-its-kind approach for the brand, rooted in uncovering emerging Gen Z audiences, the campaign applied the full breadth of innovative audio solutions across various platforms and formats under highly pressurised post-pandemic market conditions and huge shifts in consumer behaviour. From linear to digital, podcasts to Spotify playlist sponsorship, our team distributed unique and dynamic messages to consumers during critical higher propensity to purchase points. This resulted in greatly improved brand consideration for Starbucks and record sales figures, despite lower footfalls compared with pre-pandemic levels. 📢 “Grabbing attention and keeping it is harder than ever.” During yesterday’s Havas Unlocked: Future of Social event, our team began by sharing an overview of the history of social media, what social looks like today, how brands can win in 2024, and what the future of social could look like in 2030. One of the key focus areas for brands for the next 12-18 months highlighted by our team was the topic of 'attention' and how to keep it. In a world with an overwhelming amount of content to consume and countless players all fiercely competing to try and cut through the noise and stand out from the crowd, the way brands need to connect with audiences is changing, with not all impacts being equal. At Havas, we are working hard to better understand ad attention across the various platforms and formats available, enabling richer insights for planning across social campaigns to maximise the levels of reach and attention we can offer our clients.
