'Chandrababu Naidu acting like a dictator': YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy after under-construction party office demolished in Andhra's Guntur

NEW DELHI: YSR Congress Party's under-construction central office in Tadepalli, Guntur district was demolished by municipal authorities on Saturday morning due to alleged illegal construction.
Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the demolition attributing it to the TDP-led government and said that the demolition was executed in blatant disregard of high court orders.
He criticized the NDA government, consisting of TDP, BJP, and Janasena, for the alleged lawlessness in the state. He argued that the demolition was indicative of how Naidu's rule would be in the next five years.
"Chandrababu took vendetta politics to the next level. Like a dictator, he got YSRCP's central office demolished with excavators and bulldozers, which was almost complete," said Reddy in a post on X.

The demolition reportedly began at around 5:30 am, according to a YSRCP statement. "The demolition proceeded even though the YSRCP had approached the High Court the previous day (Friday), challenging the preliminary actions of the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority)," the statement added.
YSRCP noted that the court had ordered a halt to any demolition activity, which was conveyed to the CRDA commissioner by a party lawyer. Despite this, the CRDA proceeded with the demolition, which the YSRCP claims amounts to contempt of court.

Reddy said that the YSRCP will not be intimidated by such actions and vowed that the party will continue to fight for the people. "The opposition party will stand strong against these vendetta politics. We will not be deterred."
CRDA and MTMC officials claimed that the YSRCP office was being constructed on irrigation department land.
Allegations surfaced that under Jagan Mohan Reddy's previous YSRCP government, the land, previously used for a boatyard was leased for a minimal amount. It was alleged that the construction proceeded without obtaining necessary approvals from CRDA and MTMC.
