On Monday evening, shortly after a high-level security meeting chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, a mob set fire to a bus used for transporting security personnel in Kangpokpi district. The incident occurred around 8.30 pm at Kangpokpi Bazar while the bus was on its way to the Kangpokpi police station. The mob stopped the bus and prevented a police team, which had rushed to the spot, from reaching the scene by blocking the road.
