CHENNAI: Coming close on the heels of BSP state president K Armstrong’s murder by a gang in Chennai, chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday held a review meeting with the senior bureaucrats on the maintenance of law and order in Tamil Nadu.
Chief secretary Shiv Das Meena, home secretary P Amudha, DGP Shankar Jiwal, ADGP S Davidson Devasirvatham and commissioners of police K Shankar (Avadi) and A Amalraj (Tambaram and A Arun (Chennai) were among those present in the meeting, according to an official release.

Earlier in the day, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami alleged that no one in Tamil Nadu was safe under the DMK rule.
The former chief minister took to social media platform X to list out the recent crime incidents reported by the media, including a youth being hacked to death in Pudukottai, a 21-year-old beheaded in Mangalapuram in Thanjavur and an attempted murder on a former Goondas Act detainee in Theni.
Asserting that urging the chief minister to maintain law and order was futile, Palaniswami appealed to police officers to commit to public service and ensure law and order.
“It is certain that no one is safe in Tamil Nadu. People, we must protect ourselves,” he said.
