6 held with 135kg ganja hidden inside car roof

Bhopal: The city crime branch on Saturday seized a haul of ganja (marijuana) brought from Orissa to Bhopal. In total 135 kilogram of marijuana and two four-wheelers were seized by the police. Six people were arrested with the contraband. The total cost of seized contraband and two four-wheelers cars was Rs 40 lakhs.
The accused were identified as Gopal (42), Ubaish (36), Ritesh (30), Satish (32), Shemshar (50), Mahendra (43) and a minor boy.
The kingpin of the gang — identified as Mahendra, a resident of Vidisha — managed to escape, said police. The cops are now conducting raids to nab him.
The accused would sell the contraband in Bhopal and adjoining areas. Police said the network of the accused would be linked, as the investigation proceeds.
Crime branch stated two four-wheelers were stopped and six people in it were found, including a minor. While searching a four-wheeler, a secret space created on the roof of a car from inside was found wherein 70 packets were found when searched. When it was checked, it was found that marijuana was kept in the packets.
The crime branch stated the kingpin of the gang was who managed to escape and efforts were underway to nab him while the remaining accused were taken into custody.
