Continuing our journey of celebrating internal mobility among our colleagues, we had the pleasure of speaking with Gregory Hitnariansingh, Product Delivery Supervisor, at PTI Security Systems. Gregory shares his valuable insights and experiences on the opportunities provided by internal mobility at ASSA ABLOY. “Since joining PTI Security Systems in December of 2016, I have held various roles within technical support, specifically focusing on supporting access control products. In 2019, I was promoted to Lead Support and in 2020 I transitioned into the role of Product Delivery Supervisor.”   What I love most about my role: What I love most about my role is having the opportunity to provide technical support to our customers and helping resolves their queries. I really enjoy helping others, leading a team, coaching, teaching, and seeing others progress toward their own goals, as well as supporting to achieve our team goals. The best part of technical customer service is providing solutions and results to our customers. What makes ASSA ABLOY special: I had the chance to work with PTI Security Systems before the merge with ASSA ABLOY and have therefore experienced working for the business before and now after they were acquired by ASSA ABLOY. There have been numerous positive changes since being supported by a global company, and one of these is regarding the development opportunities now available. The programs and courses offered by ASSA ABLOY further align with the direction I see my career moving, and it is great to have access to this material. Having support in my local business area and across Global Solutions is a valuable benefit that encourages my personal growth. My experience of internal mobility: I have always embraced challenges head-on, which allows me to avoid complacency. I have learned that taking on new challenges, especially in Information Technology, can lead to further personal growth and development. Since working with PTI Security Systems, I have been fortunate to take on new challenges and various roles with my recent promotion to Product Delivery Supervisor. In addition, the rewards of completing challenging projects go beyond reaching the goal line. My advice: My advice would be to have the conversations. There is plenty of room to grow with ASSA ABLOY if you wish. Find your passion and follow it. Be confident in your skills, and let your passion drive you. Last week, EVP and Head of Global Solutions, Stephanie Ordan, together with the management team, visited the HITEC show and our KEYper Systems office in Charlotte. The HITEC event provided opportunities to explore the latest innovations in the hospitality sector and to meet with visitors at our Vingcard, Nomadix, an ASSA ABLOY company, and Axxess Industries booths. At ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, we take pride in our diverse and talented teams. As we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day today, we turn to Elsa Zhu, Mechanical Engineer at Vingcard, to share her experience from working within engineering. What do you do as a mechanical engineer? I am responsible for implementing new projects and improving existing products. I frequently collaborate with vendors and the R&D team on manufacturing new components. In addition, I work closely with in-house production to solve issues during assembly and testing and handle customized components to meet specific customer requirements.   What is the best thing about being an engineer? In my eyes, engineering is an amazing career. As an engineer, you can make something out of nothing, seeing it take form and become something you yourself made. That never seize to amaze me. In addition to this, getting a satisfied customer is unmatched.   What has been an important milestone in your career? The promotion to mechanical engineer has given me more opportunities to master different processing techniques and improve my problem-solving skills. The moments when issues are resolved, new products are assembled, and components come off the manufacturing line without any issues make me very proud. What is the best thing about working for ASSA ABLOY? Whatever I need, whenever, and wherever I might need it, my team give me professional suggestions and support. It’s an environment that enables engineers just like me to thrive and excel in their roles. It’s not a one-man job and I’m so happy with all the support I get from my team every day. Do you have any advice for others interesting in engineering? Engineering is such an exciting field to enter. I wish more women would consider pursuing a career as a mechanical engineer, I can’t recommend it enough. Understanding our customers is one of the most crucial parts of our job. Phoniro Sverige, part of Global Solutions Senior Care business area, recently implemented a Voice of the Customer process to get a deeper understanding of their customers' needs. Voice of the Customer consisted of employees that conducted interviews with new, experienced, former, and potential customers on topics covering needs and future challenges. Reflecting on the initial outreach to customers, Kristoffer Wadman, Head of Senior Care in the Nordics, says: "We were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelmingly positive response from our customers. They appreciated our genuine interest in their challenges and were eager to share their insights. One customer even stated that, ‘I'm glad that a supplier finally took some time to show interest in our daily challenges. I wish more companies did that.’ I think that says a lot about why it’s so important to implement these types of surveys.” The insights gathered from the customer interactions will create new areas for development, and most importantly deliver on our customers' current and future needs. A couple of months ago, we welcomed a new addition to the Global Solutions family – CEMOEL. In the midst of the integration phase, we reached out to Xavier Fors, General Manager at CEMOEL, and Clàudia Sala Rivero, Finance and Administration Manager, to hear about their first experiences with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions and what they look forward to most. Reflecting on the first months, Xavier Fors expresses a mix of excitement and nerves that comes with navigating change. "These past few months have been filled with anticipation. Personally, it has been easier than I could ever imagine, mainly because we are accompanied by good professionals and great people. Our support group has really instilled a sense of confidence and is answering all the questions our employees might have. The team is guiding them through all organizational changes, and that feels very reassuring,” says Xavier Fors. Turning to Clàudia Sala Rivero, she shares what excites her most about joining Global Solutions. “Entering such a big company as ASSA ABLOY, coming from a smaller company, I personally feel like I have a larger support group and more people to reach out to. What excites me the most about joining ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is the alignment with its values of empowerment, integrity, and innovation. I am convinced that these principles are the basis for great achievements from all employees.
