Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Established in 1936, the Institute has over 40,000 members around the world representing all aspects of land use and development disciplines. ULI has been active in Europe since the early 1990s and today we have over 3,000 members. ULI Europe has a particularly strong presence in the major European real estate markets of the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands but is also active in emerging markets such as Turkey and Poland. We invite you to join us for the upcoming Residential Product Council event where we will discuss what residential real estate for senior citizens could and should look like, taking into account what motivates #senior residents to change their living situation. We are excited to welcome Carola de Groot as the speaker for this event. She has worked as a senior housing market economist at RaboResearch since 2019, and has extensive knowledge not only of the housing market but of the impact of climate change and what independent living for elderly members of society means. She specialises in the housing preferences and behaviour of Dutch citizens, and how these can differ. Our personal key takeaways from the theme of 'Future Proof Cities' include: 🔵 It is impossible to shape cities by merely investing in tangible assets (‘stones’) without improving the position of human beings.
