How do senior residents in the Netherlands really want to live?   We invite you to join us for the upcoming Residential Product Council event where we will discuss what residential real estate for senior citizens could and should look like, taking into account what motivates #senior residents to change their living situation.    We are excited to welcome Carola de Groot as the speaker for this event. She has worked as a senior housing market economist at RaboResearch since 2019, and has extensive knowledge not only of the housing market but of the impact of climate change and what independent living for elderly members of society means. Our personal key takeaways from the theme of 'Future Proof Cities' include: 🔵 It is impossible to shape cities by merely investing in tangible assets (‘stones’) without improving the position of human beings. Investing in people, particularly in education, is essential — from the speech of Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of #Rotterdam. 🔵 Understanding who we are building for is essential – 'While context, culture, and climate may vary, human behaviour is universal' - from the presentation by Morten Kjer Jeppesen 🔵 Enhancing existing spaces should be a focus of already dense European cities such as #Paris – presented by Marion Waller. 🔵 Disruptive technologies, diverse energy sources, and a sustainable ecosystem in our urban areas can be part of a collective international approach to changing the economic function of our cities. – from the presentation by Brigit van Dijk - van de Reijt Speakers Marion Waller, Jeroen Lokerse, Morten Kjer Jeppesen, Ahmed Aboutaleb, Brigit van Dijk - van de Reijt, and moderator Susanne Heering brought their insight into regional and pan-European trends, from investment, finance and sustainable construction to anticipating change and moving with the times.
