👋 👋🏿 👋🏼 We need your help! We regularly ask people in biology for feedback on what we are developing at Cradle. And we would love to ask you some questions! We’d schedule a conversation with you, whenever it suits you, and show you some of our latest, unreleased features. Or we would ask you questions about your processes in the lab, or how you evaluate your data. All to make sure that the software that we design is the most user-friendly and intuitive it can be. And we will even open-source the learnings that we believe might benefit the wider community of developers who are building software for science! Why join? ✅ You've engineered proteins/cells in the wet lab or dry lab ✅ You're interested in ML/AI for biology ✅ You want to participate in UX interviews to help shape our beta release ✅ Early access to our 3D structure prediction web app ✅ Exclusive Cradle Merch: custom made Cradle socks! ✅ Get invited to future hackathons and meetups Sign-up here: https://lnkd.in/et7Y7qAx

Cradle + Google We're excited to announce our new partnership with Google Cloud, aimed at providing an unprecedented level of security for our customers' sensitive research and development data. By leveraging Google Cloud's advanced data protection solutions, we've created a secure environment that allows our customers to innovate with AI, without compromising the safety of their valuable intellectual property. At Cradle, we view data security as primarily an engineering challenge. Our approach integrates safeguards at every architectural level, from each Cradler's device to our SaaS platform's web interface. This sets us apart in the biotech industry, where many focus primarily on perimeter security and compliance. While we're adopting SOC2 and ISO27001 standards, we believe true data security requires more comprehensive measures. Our collaboration with Google Cloud allows us to focus on what we do best - advancing our AI algorithms and developing our platform for protein engineering. We can now offer our customers a user-friendly, web-based software that makes protein engineering faster, cheaper, and more successful across various industries, all while ensuring the utmost protection of their intellectual property. We're proud to bring this level of security to the biotech industry. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZbrU-UG

User Experience Researcher - AI for Protein engineering

I'm excited to share a recent blog post about my rather unconventional career journey: "From Prisons to Proteins: The Unexpected Journey of a UX Researcher." It's a bit surreal to see my path from criminology to biotech laid out like this! From studying criminal behavior at Cambridge and teaching in San Quentin prison, to roles at Uber and Facebook, and now as a UX researcher at Cradle - each step has taught me something valuable. I'm grateful for the diverse experiences that have shaped my approach to understanding user needs in the complex world of AI-driven protein design. If you're curious about how a criminologist ended up in biotech, or how interdisciplinary backgrounds can contribute to innovation, I'd be honoured if you'd give it a read. It's been quite a journey, and I'm continually amazed by how past experiences can find new relevance in unexpected places. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e7wNfyJm

In our latest blog post covering The Rise of the Bioneers, we continue our exploration of how innovative companies are leveraging proteins to transform industries and create a more sustainable future. This second installment delves into the fascinating world of plastic waste management, chemical production, and beauty products. We spotlight Protein Evolution and Carbiolice, two companies tackling the plastic waste crisis through enzyme technology. Protein Evolution uses AI-designed enzymes to convert plastic waste into reusable raw materials, while Carbiolice has developed an additive to accelerate PLA plastic degradation. In the chemical sector, Solugen is revolutionizing production methods with enzyme-based processes that aim to reduce environmental impact. Meanwhile, Geltor is disrupting the beauty and personal care industry by creating animal-free protein alternatives through microbial fermentation and genetic engineering. These companies represent just a fraction of the growing movement towards sustainable, protein-based solutions across various industries. Their innovative approaches demonstrate the potential for proteins to address some of our most pressing environmental challenges, from plastic pollution to chemical production emissions. Ultimately we aim to help a million companies design better protein-based processes and products. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dEN9Dm2m

🧬 Welcome to the second installment of our "Cradle Unfolded" series, where we learn from the individuals who make up the Cradle team! In this post, we're honored to feature Jinel Shah, one of the scientists working diligently to optimize our wet lab processes. Jinel joins us with extensive experience from her previous position as a protein engineer at Genomatica, where she contributed to projects such as the commercialization of plant-based nylon production. Throughout this thoughtful conversation, Jinel shares her insights on the evolving field of protein engineering. She reflects on the potential of AI and machine learning to expedite the design process, the significance of fostering collaboration between biologists and mathematicians, and Cradle's efforts to make these advanced tools more accessible to the scientific community. From discussing the primary challenges in the field to expressing her interest in participating in our "Woman vs. Machine" protein design challenge, Jinel provides a unique and valuable perspective on the work being done by scientists at the vanguard of the protein design revolution. 👉 https://lnkd.in/djU-zBnS
