From January to May of 2024, Climate Tech has represented 45% of this year’s funding, amounting to $325 million—an all-time high since 2019. This trend highlights a growing interest in sustainable solutions within the African startup ecosystem. Vincent joins Persistent as the Lead Tech Venture Builder, where he will work with our partner companies to develop their technology vision and strategy as well as building their capacity in software development, IT & cybersecurity, and product hardware. Vincent brings a wealth of experience, having lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa for the past 12 years. He co-founded two companies in the tech and energy sectors, worked with the World Bank as a private-sector development consultant, and has held several technology leadership positions, including Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer. #joiningpersistent
