Our team at ACCESS SA, including myself as CEO were honored to welcome a visit from CEI-Africa to the Massigui solar power plant. This power station, which supplies a medi-um and low voltage grids provides electricity to over 15,000 people. As we are now in the month of Ramadan, electricity demand is very high and it impact on local economy is considerable . At #TEAFORUM24 President and Principal at GreenMax Capital Group Clifford (Cliff) Aron presents the CEI Africa solution to three problems plaguing Off-Grid Solar (OGS) and Green Mini Grids (GMGs): PROBLEM 1.) Early-stage OGS companies struggle raising capital from many different funding solutions. SOLUTION 1.) Offers a suite of financing instruments including RBF and Outcomes-based grants under a "one-stop shop" umbrella. PROBLEM 2.) Crowdfunders have been shying away from OGS company risks, suspending lending for PAYG and declining to finance GMGs. SOLUTION 2.) Crowdlending Window provides risk sharing products and professional fund manager views grant applications through a commercial lens, offering technical assistance (TA) interventions to solve bottlenecks with E&S, permitting, financing, etc. PROBLEM 3.) GMGs need Productive Use of Energy (PUE) to be economically viable. SOLUTION 3.) ⚡ Triple Jump is proud to be a part of the world’s most comprehensive social impact assessment of off-grid energy! ⚡ Conducted by 60 Decibels, the 2024 edition of Why Off-Grid Energy Matters is based on interviews with 79,000 off-grid energy customers in more than 30 countries. 🌐 This includes 1467 customers from 5 of our Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund (EEGF) portfolio companies across 4 countries. 💡 🚰 Of these, 64% of customers saw their quality of life improve because of access to the solar home systems and solar water pumps our portfolio companies provide. Our investees are also reaching unserved populations with 69% of customers accessing this technology for the first time.  The report launches today, highlighting the transformative power of off-grid energy solutions, identifying opportunities for outsized impact performance and providing practical next steps towards bridging the energy divide – which is critically needed for the 660 million people expected to remain without electricity by 2030. 🕯 ✍📖 Findings collated from more than 450 impact measurement projects reveal that over half of all customers report a significant improvement in their lives, with 9 in 10 experiencing enhanced wellbeing.
