In-house training with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech 🚗 In a 4-day training course, the employees received both theoretical and practical training from our item experts in the field of Karakuri. Many questions were answered and discussed - it was an exciting and educational exchange. 💡 The results were finished Karakuri constructions that were built as practical part of the training. They were also shown and explained a selection of highly complex item exhibits. Karakuri/LCA (= low-cost automation) is a particularly intelligent form of automation that generally requires no drives, electricity, sensors or compressed air. Instead, it relies on spring force, gravity and lever principles – something that makes the method all the more relevant in these times of climate change and soaring energy prices. #intralogistics #training #engineering #karakuri #LCA

#Goal #sabotage One of the responsibilities of managers is to set clear goals and support their team in achieving them. Goal sabotage happens when, despite great intentions, managers end up hindering their team's progress by withholding resources, creating unnecessary obstacles or setting unrealistic expectations. This can be frustrating and demoralizing for employees, as it creates a situation where success becomes nearly impossible regardless of their efforts. What does it sound like? "We don't have the budget for that right now." "It's not the right time to pursue this." "We'll have to revisit this later." "I'm not sure if we have the resources to support that initiative." "Let's table this discussion for now." "We're too busy with other priorities at the moment." What does it look like? * Assigning additional tasks without adjusting deadlines or resources. * Failing to allocate necessary funds or resources for projects. * Micromanaging to the point of slowing progress or stifling creativity. * Ignoring or dismissing concerns raised by team members about obstacles. * Implementing bureaucratic processes that unnecessarily delay progress. * Undermining efforts by prioritizing conflicting tasks or projects. Does this sound like you? Could you be sabotaging the success of your team achieving their goals? Recognize this within yourself so that you can foster a supportive and effective workplace, otherwise, you'll end up decreasing morale, productivity, and ultimately, losing your valuable talent.

🔍 Is the Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagram Always the Right Tool for Problem Solving? 🤔 ...The management is frustrated, because ongoing claim issue has not yet been resolved despite significant resources and time invested and the pressure from customer is getting tougher day by day. The customer is unhappy, because same issue reoccurs with a constant rate during production which causes efficiency as well financial losses. The problem-solving team seems quite comfortable, having generated and tested around 50 different hypotheses to identify the root cause. They would be happier if one of the hypotheses had explained the underlying cause. Nevertheless, they're convinced that they've covered all bases in the Fishbone diagram, leaving them with no choice but to continue tinkering with those possible causes... Does this story sound familiar 🙂 While the Ishikawa diagram, or Fishbone diagram, has a place in the toolbox of many quality and process improvement professionals, it’s essential to recognize that it may not always be the optimal choice for every problem-solving scenario. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Complexity of Root Causes: Ishikawa diagram is excellent for visualizing potential causes of a problem, but it can oversimplify complex issues. When multiple, interrelated root causes are involved, more sophisticated tools like Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) might be more effective. 2. Quantitative Data Limitations: The Fishbone diagram primarily relies on qualitative data. For problems requiring in-depth statistical analysis, tools such as Pareto charts or Histograms, which integrate quantitative data, would definitely provide more precise insights. 3. Dynamic and Complex Systems: In environments where problems are the result of dynamic and complex systems, the Fishbone diagram may fall short. Systematic approaches like Systems Thinking or Model Based Thinking offer more comprehensive frameworks for addressing such challenges. In conclusion, while the Ishikawa diagram remains a handy tool for simple problems, it’s crucial to assess the nature of the problem, ask right questions and gain insight about what's happening. The analysis of the carbon footprint of the Jaguar Land Rover Slovakia s.r.o. automotive plant according to the GHG Protocol methodology confirmed the dominance of Scope 3 emissions (downstream, upstream) and helped to prioritise internal projects to decarbonise the company's Scope 1 and 2 emissions in line with Reimagine's corporate strategy. Highlights 1) A carbon footprint analysis based on Greenhouse Gas Protocol was applied in the automotive factory. 2) Greenhouse gas emissions from all scopes were calculated and compared for the first time. 3) Scope 3 accounts for 98% of all greenhouse gas emissions. 4) The most important decarbonization challenge is conversion of the natural gas as main fossil energy source for manufacturing technology to green electricity.
