The International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law: Gerard J. Mangone Prize

 

ESTU coverThe Gerard J. Mangone Prize was established to mark the 90th birthday of the late Dr Gerard J. Mangone, co-editor of the Journal from 1992 until his death in 2011.

The Prize is awarded to the author of the best contribution published in The International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law. The choice of the prize winner is made by a small jury of Editorial Board members, paying particular attention to articles by younger scholars. The prize includes a substantial selection of Brill| Nijhoff books.

  • For 2011, a small committee of the Editorial Board, Professors William Edeson and David Freestone, have recommended that a special award be made to Professor Robin Churchill for his outstanding contributions, in particular for his regular and outstanding Annual Survey of Dispute Settlement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, which has become a major feature of the journal.
