Follow these tips to help you get the most value out of summer at NYU.

With hundreds of flexible online and in-person courses to choose from, summer study presents convenient, economical options to stay on track or even accelerate your progress toward your degree.

Selecting Summer Courses

You can use NYU’s Degree Progress Report tool to find what credits you’re missing, and work with your advisor to see which summer courses [link to albert] will fulfill your requirements and contribute to your academic goals. 

You can also use the filter tools in Albert to help find the courses that meet your needs. The tool will allow you to filter for course schedule, format (online or in-person), school, number of credits, and more. 

Paying for Summer

You can use the tuition calculator to estimate tuition costs for summer courses. 

Students enrolled in 6 or more credits this summer may be eligible for federal financial aid. Students must have a valid FAFSA on file for academic year 2021-22 in order to be considered eligible.In addition to repayable student loans, grants for summer study are available for eligible students. Learn more about financial aid eligibility for the summer.

Work Study

Your financial aid package may provide you with Work-Study eligibility. If you’re eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program, you will be given a set amount of money you can earn through approved jobs that provide you with 15 to 20 hours of work each week. 

Campus employment opportunities include remote positions that will allow you to earn money online.

Summer Internships

Summer internships are invaluable opportunities to gain professional experience and boost your career readiness while you work toward your degree.

Handshake is the Wasserman Center's online database that gives students direct access to search for full-time, part-time, and internship positions.

Through Handshake students can also access additional web-based job search and career exploration tools.
