GRI Athens
Site Information
The NYU Athens site hosts graduate students and faculty conducting site-specific research through the Provost's Global Research Initiatives (GRI). In addition, each summer it welcomes the College of Arts and Science Summer in Athens study abroad program. Throughout the year, the Athens site hosts events and colloquia that focus on a variety of topics related to Greece.
The Global Research Institute in Athens (GRI Athens) is ideal for graduate students and faculty members from a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, the sciences, and the social sciences. To visit and work at NYU's center in Athens, faculty and graduate students must apply and be accepted as GRI fellows.

GRI Berlin
Site Information
GRI’s longest term partner, NYU Berlin hosted the first set of fellows during the program’s pre-launch semester in the Spring of 2011. Since then, faculty and graduate students from a wide variety of disciplines come to NYU Berlin to conduct site-specific research or work on academic projects. Every summer, the Berlin site also hosts a Summer Dissertation Workshop for doctoral students. To research and work at the Global Research Institute in Berlin, faculty and graduate students must apply to be GRI fellows through the Provost’s Global Research Initiative.
In addition to hosting graduate students and faculty each semester, NYU Berlin also hosts and sponsors a wide range of international academic conferences and events, often in collaboration with NYU Berlin faculty and local institutions.
NYU Berlin is an ideal research location for scholars from a wide range of disciplines in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The site’s academic center is located in the Kulturbrauerei, in the neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg, and is thus in close proximity to many of the archives, museums, and academic and political institutions that the city of Berlin has to offer.

GRI Florence
Site Information
NYU Florence is set on a 37-acre estate overlooking the city of Florence with five villas, open grounds and olive groves. The campus lies one mile outside the medieval city walls and is a fifteen-minute bus ride from the city center. The centerpiece of the campus, Villa La Pietra, is a magnificent 15th-century villa and house museum that contains a collection of Medieval and Renaissance art and home furnishings.
In addition to its world-famous monuments and art museums, Florence and other nearby cities provide access to unsurpassed cutural and research resources, including the world’s first university in Bologna, the world’s first orphanage in Florence, and one of the earliest surviving botanical gardens in Pisa. Although especially rich in resources related to medieval and early modern history, the city is also home to unique archives relating to the history of music, 20th-century art and politics, and the historic archives of the European Union located a short distance from the NYU campus. NYU Florence is thus an ideal location for scholars working in a wide variety of disciplines in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

GRI London
Site Information
The NYU London Academic Center is located on Bedford Square in Bloomsbury. It is comprised of three beautifully restored 18th-century townhouses. The Academic Centre contains all of our classrooms for teaching, and our main administrative offices. There is a dedicated lounge for GRI students, sitting next to the GRI offices on the 3rd floor. There are two computer labs, several communal student lounges, and we even have key access to the garden in the middle of Bedford Square.
The NYU Center is centrally located near the many famous colleges of the University of London, including the London School of Economics, University College London, King's College, and the School of Oriental and African Studies.

GRI Madrid
Site Information
Established in 1958, NYU Madrid is the oldest of the university’s global programs. The program’s site is a newly renovated building in the Chueca neighborhood, in the vibrant center of the city. The area is notable for the character of its 1900’s style buildings, as well as its squares, shops, and cosmopolitan personality.
Madrid is the central hub of modern Spain, with a vibrant urban flair. The city is a hive of activity, with great investments being made in construction and improvements to the city's infrastructure. Madrid is also the country's business center, home to an array of banks and international companies, and fashion capital—a fact easily gleaned from the citizens' tasteful street style and the many trendy boutiques along the Calle de Serrano.

GRI Paris
Site Information
The NYU Paris academic center is located in the Latin Quarter, the thriving historic and intellectual heart of Paris.

GRI Prague
Site Information
NYU Prague is in the heart of the city on Malé Náměstí (the Small Square), steps away from the famous Old Town Square. Take a short walk and you can find yourself on Wenceslas Square (the site of Prague's Velvet Revolution), the Jewish Quarter (with its famed 15th-century cemetery) or Charles Bridge.
Our campus consists of two buildings: the Blue Building, a 15th-century building with painted wooden Renaissance ceilings and arched entryways, and the elegant Richter Palace (Richtruv dum) with its beautiful Baroque facade. Our English-language library boasts a large collection focused on Central Europe.

GRI Shanghai
Site Information
Built in 2022, the New Bund Campus serves as NYU Shanghai’s main campus and thriving intellectual center. It is located in the Qiantan (the New Bund) neighborhood of Pudong District, near to Shanghai’s new hub of finance, technology and other key industries.

GRI Tel Aviv
Site Information
The NYU Tel Aviv academic center is located in the "Old North", a charming neighborhood in the north of Tel Aviv. Nearby is the famous HaYarakon Park. Often compared to New York’s Central Park, HaYarakon Park has miles of green space, bike and walking lanes, sports facilities, botanical gardens, concert venues, and lakes. Tel Aviv's Port District, a mix of restaurants, shops and beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea, is just a 20-minute walk along this park from the academic center.

GRI Tulsa, OK
Site Information
NYU Tulsa will be the university’s fourth global network location in the United States, joining its main campus in New York and other academic centers in Washington, DC, and Los Angeles.
The NYU Tulsa academic center is scheduled to open in Spring 2025 and will be located in Tulsa's downtown Arts District.

GRI Washington, D.C.
Site Information
The Constance Milstein and Family Global Academic Center is home to NYU Washington, D.C. Located just a few blocks from the White House, the World Bank, Washington’s famous monuments and memorials and the Smithsonian museums. The Academic Center is conveniently located near the McPherson Square (Blue and Orange lines), Farragut North and Metro Center Stations (Red line, about 10 – 15 minute walk from each), and Mt. Vernon Square / 7th Street Convention Center (Green and Yellow lines) with access to bike share locations and bus routes that provide quick access to neighborhoods, including Adams Morgan, DuPont Circle, Georgetown, and Foggy Bottom.
