The All-Ireland Under-20 hurling final between Tipperary and Offaly will remain fixed for UPMC Nowlan Park this weekend.

It follows communication between Croke Park and Kilkenny GAA around expectation that the condition will have improved significantly in the next five days.

The venue hosted a Bruce Springsteen concert more than two weeks ago and the impact on the surface was clear at one end, prompting Wexford manager Keith Rossiter to express disbelief at the condition it was in.

The game has been fixed for the Kilkenny venue on Saturday at 7.15pm to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of James Nowlan who it is dedicated to. Nowlan was a former GAA president and Leinster chairman.

Two years ago, Tipperary and Offaly met in an All-Ireland minor final in UPMC Nowlan Park, a game Tipperary won in dramatic late fashion, when over 20,000 were present.
