The Indo Daily: Are Ireland and Nigel Farage the big winners in Labour’s UK election victory?

An overwhelming victory for Keir Starmer’s Labour Party has seen support for the Conservative Party collapse in a historic day in British politics.

Not since Tony Blair’s 1997 victory have we seen such a landslide result that has left the Tory Party asking many questions as to what happens next.

Former prime minister Liz Truss was one of many high-profile Conservative politicians to lose their seats as counting got underway today.

The other big story from the election result is the rise of Nigel Farage and his Reform Party. Many of its candidates beat the Tories into second place in constituencies across the UK. What impact will Farage and his party have on UK politics in the coming years?
