Architects who worked on the Annesley Gardens development in Ranelagh recently won the RIAI Architecture Award in the Living category.

The Metropolitan Workshop is a multi-disciplinary practice of architects and designers who collaborated on the development across their studios in Dublin and London.

The result is a new scheme of 20 three and four-bed houses that doesn’t fight against the historic surroundings of Ranelagh.

This was achieved by building modern-looking houses with nice touches such as zinc roof details and ‘fake’ chimney stacks that are a nod to their period neighbours, but not actually needed in the A-rated homes that are heated more efficiently.

There are only two four-bed houses left for sale at Annesley Gardens. They range in size from 1,872sq ft to 1,897sq ft and are both priced at €1.8m.

Each one is laid out over three levels and has a terrace on the first floor.

The finish is high in the homes with bespoke kitchens with stained solid oak units, and worktops and islands made of Calacatta marble.
