I’ve had a lucky run of it of late. Each of the restaurants I’ve chosen to review has offered something different, but the standard has been high across the board.

I allocate the scores at the end of each review on the basis of how each place performs against what it sets out to achieve, so both a simple cafe and a Michelin-starred fine-dining establishment can score high marks.
