We’re shearing this week and it’s always a relief to get it done. I always wean shortly afterwards, when the commotion has subsided, and I draft off whatever lambs are fittest, separating the ram and ewe lambs.
I try to keep the stress of weaning to a minimum, gradually taking away ewes from the flock.
