Grounds to believe prices will improve in run-up to Easter

When trying to work out where factory sheep prices might go, it is always useful to check back on previous years. This time in 2023 factory quotes for lamb/ hogget ranged from €5.90-6.00/kg, with cull ewes at €3.00-3.20/kg.
Today, factory quotes for lamb/hogget on our price table are unchanged from last week but up to 90c/kg ahead of 12 months ago, ranging from €6.65+20c/kg quality assurance at the two Irish Country Meats plants to €6.80+10c/kg QA at Kildare Chilling, with Dawn Ballyhaunis on €6.75+10c/kg QA.
