The Farmers’ Charter is an agreement between the main farming organisations and the Department of Agriculture, establishing a host of rights both farmers and the Department have in relation to their engagement in agricultural schemes.

Under the current Charter, which is expected to be similar under the new CAP, farmers have the following rights:
