ACRES scheme branded 'farce' with thousands of farmers left unpaid

The IFA has branded the Government's ACRES scheme a farce and said any faith in ACRES is wearing thin among hill farmers, and those in SAC/Co-Operation areas, as it claimed more 'false promises', raised their heads this week.
It comes after IT issues within the Department of Agriculture caused huge delays in issuing payments to farmers and forced the Minister for Agriculture to issue exchequer funded interim payments in March.
