The average payment under the new Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme is set to €3,696 per applicant, according to latest estimates by the Department of Agriculture.
Payment under the scheme is calculated by means of a suckler cow reference number computed by examining farmers' average cow numbers in the years 2016- 2021.
