Nadine Coyle has pulled out of a festival she was expected to appear at this weekend due to “exhaustion”, organisers have confirmed.

The Girls Aloud singer had been set to perform at Kubix Festival in Sunderland on Saturday.

However, the festival announced the Derry singer’s cancelled gig on social media writing: “Unfortunately Nadine Coyle is no longer able to play Kubix due to exhaustion but we hope she gets plenty of rest and will inviting her back to a future Festival.”

Coyle recently finished touring the UK and Ireland with her Girls Aloud band mates.

The band performed 30 shows, beginning in Dublin on May 17 and finishing in Liverpool on June 30.

The tour marked the group's first outing since 2013's Ten: The Hits and their first as a quartet, following the passing of Sarah Harding in 2021.

Harding and Coyle joined Girls Aloud back in 2002 alongside Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh as part of the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals.

During the reunion tour, Coyle appeared to forget the lyrics to one of their most famous songs.

Performing in Dublin on May 17, the singer was videoed looking confused as she sang her part in the song Jump.

The song reached number two in the UK and Ireland charts and was featured on the soundtrack to Love Actually.

In the video, Coyle is heard saying “I’m singing the wrong words” in the same tune as the song’s famous bridge.

She then quickly corrected herself much to the amusement of her band mates including Cheryl.

Last month the singer also found herself surprised on stage by her band mates with a birthday cake to mark the 39-year-old’s special day.

The Derry native said she was "emotional” and nearly cried when Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola and their dancers produced the cake and got the whole of the First Direct Arena in Leeds to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.
