Dear Vicki: How can I make small talk with older male clients when I know nothing about sport?

Q I recently moved from a sales job with a multi-national firm to a more senior business development job with an Irish company that is focused much more on the domestic market. I love their product and the company, but I'm really struggling to make a connection with some of their important clients.

I'm originally from France but have been in Ireland since college and know the country. Yet, as a woman in my 30s, I find small talk with Irish men in their 40s and 50s a real struggle.
