Euro 2024 was not gone for long. On the eve of England’s semi-final clash with the Netherlands, the Three Lions will learn who their potential final opponents might be. The tournament's standout side Spain take on World Cup runners-up France in Munich this evening.

But in preperation to England's last-four clash, Gareth Southgate has slapped a ban on his England players from discussing their penalty secrets in public after their perfect shoot-out display against Switzerland last time out.

The FA are working hard to ensure the nation's penalty tactics, which have sparked drastic improvement from the spot at major tournaments, remain hidden so as not to help their opponents.

Meanwhile, UEFA have done the Netherlands a huge favour ahead of Wednesday's clash with England at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund.

The Dutch fans have arguably been the loudest and proudest at Euro 2024, and they have been given a monumental boost because they have been handed tickets for the iconic 'Yellow Wall' which will become all orange this time around.

Express Sport provides all the latest Euro 2024 LIVE news with regular updates throughout your Wednesday...

Euro 2024 breakout star may join Prem team before Sunday's final

Dani Olmo’s sensational Euro 2024 has seen him linked with a move away from RB Leipzig this summer, and a deal may take place before he represents Spain in the final.

According to The Mirror, the playmaker’s £50million release clause is expected to be triggered before it ‘expires’ next Monday.

English and Spanish sides are among Olmo’s admirers, with Chelsea said to have a ‘concrete interest’ in signing the midfielder. Liverpool are not interested at this stage.

German star set to retire following Euro 2024 exit

Germany legend Thomas Muller is set to retire from international football, reports Bild.

The Bayern Munich star admitted after his side’s defeat to Spain in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 that he may have played his final match for his nation, and that now appears to be the case.

Muller has made 131 appearances for Germany, scoring 45 goals and registering 41 assists.

Spain boss speaks out on bizarre Morata injury

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has revealed that his team are sweating over the fitness of Alvaro Morata.

The striker was wiped out by a security guard looking to protect the Spain team from a pitch invader following their win over France.

The ex-Chelsea forward appeared in significant pain following the incident, and La Fuente has vowed that they will wait to see the extent of the problem.

Speaking after the win, the Spain boss said: “Alvaro... We have to wait and see tomorrow. We believe it’s nothing. It hurts, but we think it’s nothing.”

Dutch star aware of 'flak' England have taken

Dutch defender Micky van de Ven has spoken about the ‘flak’ that England have received at Euro 2024.

The Tottenham star is hoping to put an end to the Three Lions’ run at Euro 2024, though has warned his side that they must be aware of the ‘defensive’ style of Gareth Southgate’s team.

He explained: “We understand they have taken a lot of flak from the English media but they are in the semi-finals and that says all that needs to be said about the English team. I think they play defensively. We will go and analyse them properly, but what I can say is they have a lot of quality.

“If you see the quality of the players from both teams, I think you can expect that the level and the rhythm of the game will be really high. Hopefully, it’s us that will have more of the ball than England so that it is England who do the running. But I expect a high intensity game.”

Kane hits back at questions over his fitness

Harry Kane has revealed that he believes he is getting ‘better and sharper’ after questions were raised about the fitness of the England skipper.

The striker has been criticised for some of his displays at Euro 2024, prompting calls for Ivan Toney to lead the line against the Netherlands instead of the Bayern Munich star.

But Kane has declared that he feels that he is improving with every match for the Three Lions, saying: “I think there are always going to be times... especially if you look over the last couple of major tournaments, there's always been at some stage question marks over my fitness or my form.

“I think it is part and parcel of it. I always say I want to score in every game, I want to try and help the team in every game from that sense, but also my role isn't just scoring goals.

"Maybe sometimes when I don't score I think the fitness one is an easy one just to throw in now – 'Why? Is there a reason? Is it his fitness? Is it not?' But like I said before the tournament, I felt like I had a good preparation going into it, I felt like I'm getting better and sharper as the games go along.”

Yamal explains 'speak now' response following Rabiot remark

Spain star Lamine Yamal says that the target of his post-match blast will ‘know who they are’ stopping short of calling out French midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The teen became the youngest scorer in Euros history when helping his side to a 2-1 victory over Les Bleus before shouting ‘Speak now’ at the cameras once the full-time whistle sounded.

The comments are thought to have been aimed at Rabiot, who said ahead of the match: “ If Lamine Yamal wants to play in the Euro final with Spain, he will have to do much more against us than he has done so far. We will put pressure on him so that he is not comfortable.”

The Barcelona winger opted against naming Rabiot as the target of his shouts though. Asked to clarify his passionate post-match shouts, Yamal said: “Well, the person that I am talking about, this person will know who this person is and I'm just really happy about reaching the final and really happy about my team."

Rice should cane Harry

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Bryan Robson has pleaded with Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo to bark orders at Harry Kane.

The Bayern Munich striker keeps dropping too deep and not posing enough of an attacking threat during Euro 2024.

And Robson thinks Kane's team-mates should be doing more to discourage him from searching for the ball.

He told the Mail: "If I was Declan Rice or Kobbie Mainoo I'd be shouting at Harry to get off my toes, get out my way and get up the pitch so when I win it I have an out ball."

Mbappe upset

Kylian Mbappe broke as many bones as he got goals at Euro 2024 and he was clearly not happy with her performances after losing to Spain.

“My ambition was to be champion of Europe – but it was a failure,” he said.

“It was everything. You shouldn’t overcomplicate it, it was either good or it was not. Voila, I was not good and we are going home. It’s simple.”

France boss speaks out

France boss Didier Deschamps has criticised his players for not being at their best following their 2-1 los to Spain last night.

He said: "I don't want to put the responsibility on one or the other. It's mine. Their end of the season was difficult, Kylian had a trauma (broken nose) .

"Even if we reached the semi-finals against a Spain with this quality, we have to be at our best. In the end, we were below. I'm not going to make excuses, but we started the preparation with neither Adrien nor Aurélien.

"We dealt with the most pressing by being as efficient as possible. The step was a little higher, even if we were lucky enough to open the score and everything turned around in four minutes. Spain has more control.

"We were less efficient in the direction of the game, we lacked verticality. Even if we pushed until the end, my players were not all at 100% for this competition for different reasons."

Spain star a doubt for final after coming together with security guard

Alvaro Morata limped off the field in Munich after appearing to be tackled by a security guard, who was attempting to deal with a pitch invader.

Portugal ace breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo's antics during Euro 2016 final

Former Portugal star Jose Fonte has broken his silence on team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo's antics during the Euro 2016 final.

Fonte was part of the Portugal side that defeated host nation France in 2016 - a final that was remembered for Ronaldo being taken off early with injury.

The ex-Manchester United star adopted an animated position on the touchline, alongside Portugal manager Fernando Santos.

Speaking about the incident, Fonte told UEFA's Legends Lounge: "We were focused on trying to win the game, it was only after [when] we were watching the images, that's when we realised what was happening with him and the coach.

"But we were just focusing on trying to win the game."

Ex-England ace pulls off stellar save to deny former team-mate in ITV vs BBC pundit match

Roy Keane was denied by Rio Ferdinand in fantastic fashion when the pair turned out for a one-off ITV vs BBC pundit match in Berlin.

Keane, who was playing for Team ITV, let rip from range, only for former Manchester United team-mate Ferdinand to save the effort with an outstretched left arm.

Maybe there is life left in Rio's career as a goalkeeper instead?

Man Utd eye deal for Euro 2024 star

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Swiss Euro 2024 star Dan Ndoye, the attacker’s agent has revealed.

Ndoye impressed for Switzerland before his country were knocked out by England.

The 23-year-old plays his club football for Bologna, who qualified for the Champions League last season.

Premier League clubs have allegedly been messaging Ndoye in the days that followed Switzerland’s exit.

Ndoye's advisor Fahd Adamson told the Sun: "It is good that Manchester United are interested in Dan, and it is somehow logical as well.

"United belong to Ineos, and Dan has already played for the other Ineos-owned clubs in Nice and Lausanne.

"He received countless WhatsApp messages from English clubs after the quarter-final against England. Let's see what emerges from them.

"We must discuss Dan's future with him and his family. We need to weigh things up well, to prevent him making the wrong career move."

Where are England playing tomorrow?

England face the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-final tomorrow.

The Three Lions have the opportunity to reach successive European Championship finals.

Should they qualify for the Berlin showdown on Sunday, they will face either Spain or France - whose semi-final takes place tonight.

England will play the Dutch in Dortmund tonight.

The Westfalondstadion is the home of Borussia Dortmund.

Unfortunately for the travelling Three Lions fans, their Dutch counterparts have been allocated the stand that holds Dortmund's famous Yellow Wall.

But playing in Dortmund could be a boost for England captain Harry Kane.

The Bayern Munich star scored a hat-trick at the same stadium last season.

Kane is looking to dispel concern over his form during this tournament.

Luke Shaw 'ready' to play for England in Euro 2024 showdown

Luke Shaw insists he is ready to start for England in the Euro 2024 semi-final against the Netherlands.

The Manchester United star suffered setbacks in his return from a hamstring problem after being selected in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad.

Shaw made his first appearance since February late in the win over Switzerland.

Asked if he can play a full match, Shaw said: “Of course, I think I am. That is down to Gareth’s decision. I feel fit and ready to go.”

The left-back added: “The last four months have been really tough. At the start I was expected to come back a lot sooner, but I went through a lot of setbacks.

“It was really nice to get on the other night and get some minutes – I’ve been itching.

“I think before the squad got announced, we had a plan to come back around the second or third game but, unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned and I was pushed back a game or so.

“Of course, it’s tough. They were really there for me, not just Gareth and Steve [Holland] but the medical staff as well. I have a lot to thank them for.”

Dutch defender 'agrees personal terms' with Man Utd

The Netherlands face England on Wednesday but one of their stars could be heading for the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United are claimed to have agreed personal terms with defender Matthijs de Ligt over a potential transfer.

According to MEN, United still need to agree a fee with Bayern Munich but they are reportedly confident that a deal can be struck.

Where is Spain vs France being played?

Spain face France in the first Euro 2024 semi-final tonight.

England will learn their possible final opponents.

Kylian Mbappe 'cannot play' for France against Spain

France have been told Kylian Mbappe 'cannot play' against Spain as the striker continues to struggle for form.

Mbappe has seemed prohibited by a fractured nose he suffered in France's first game, a 1-0 win over Austria.

The 25-year-old has worn a protective mask in each game since.

France icon Frank Leboeuf wants Mbappe taken out of the team to face Spain in tonight's semi-final.

“He’s been struggling for a while. Because of his injury he has an excuse but before that he was struggling with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League,” he told ESPN.

“So, it’s not the Mbappe that we have seen. Because of his injury, I think he is not capable of playing at the top level. Whether he should play or not [is not my decision]. For the best of everybody, right now he shouldn’t play. It is a big statement.

“He’s not at 100 per cent, he’s maybe at 50, 60 per cent of his possibility because of the mask, because of his injury and everything.

“It’s not the Mbappe that we were expecting, so therefore for me, for him and for the national team he shouldn’t play because he doesn’t serve the country and the team like he should do and it’s not even his fault.

“He’s injured, he has a broken nose, he has a problem with the mask, he shouldn’t play. I think it’s a breathing issue on top of a vision issue.

“I have nothing against Mbappe, 100 per cent he should play [if fit]. I’m the first fan and I have been criticised by people who say, ‘stop defending Mbappe’. I really love the player, he’s a fantastic player but you cannot play right now.”

Jude Bellingham sees Instagram following soar at Euro 2024

Data shows the midfielder has benefitted the most in terms of social media followings among the England squad.

Numbers commissioned by Live Football Tickets reveal that Bellingham has gained 1.6m followers on his Instagram page. The Real Madrid player now has 34.3m followers on the platform.

His surge in popularity is exemplified by Cole Palmer being second in the list despite only gaining an extra 434,000.

Gary Lineker urges England to ditch Euro 2024 secret weapon

Gary Lineker has warned England about using a water bottle to list the Netherlands' penalty-taking options in their Euro 2024 semi-final.

Images emerged after Jordan Pickford's heroics that showed the Three Lions stopper had a list of every possible Switzerland penalty taker and the likely direction of their shot.

But Lineker has quipped that Dutch players may attempt to steal the bottle if England face another shootout on Wednesday.

"I'll tell you what, though. That's brilliant, but if there's another penalty shoot-out, one player is going to look at that bottle and sneak and get the bottle," Lineker told the Rest is Football podcast.

"If you're listening, and I know you're all shutting out the noise, if you're listening, do it differently. Do it on a different piece of paper, or do it on the post! Do a different kind of thing!"

Alvaro Morata hits out at 'disrespectful' fans despite Spain success

Alvaro Morata insists he may quit Atletico Madrid over 'disrespectful' Spanish fans.

The Spain captain has struggled to win over the football community in his home country despite scoring 21 goals last season and leading his nation to the Euro 2024 semi-final.

He told El Mundo:

“In Spain it’s hard for me to be happy. Without doubt [I’m happier outside of Spain]. I’ve said it many times. Above all, because people respect me.

“In Spain there’s no respect for anything or anyone. That’s why I still think, although I’m focused on the Euros, that I don’t know if it’s best for me to stay in Spain.

“I’ve said I’m dying to win trophies with Atletico, but then you have to weigh up if it’s worth it or not.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold hits back at Harry Kane critics

Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed that it would be music to Virgil van Dijk’s ears if England dropped Harry Kane for Wednesday’s Euro 2024 semi-final.

Concerns have been raised over the England captain’s fitness after he came into the tournament with a back problem.

Some fans and pundits have wondered whether dropping Kane for the semi-final would be beneficial.

But Alexander-Arnold points out that Dutch defenders would dream of seeing a teamsheet that does not include England’s record goalscorer and captain.

“Anyone facing England would like to see Harry Kane not playing. We’re talking about England’s record scorer,” the Liverpool defender said.

“He’s scored two in this tournament, helped us win games and, as our captain, leads by example and puts everything into games. People will always have opinions but he is leading us into a semi-final.

“He is part of the reason why the environment is such a good one in camp. And he is a reason why we’re heading into a semi.”

Phil Foden explains not taking Euro 2024 penalty

Phil Foden has explained why he did not take a penalty in England’s victory over Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-final.

The Manchester City star was substituted late on in the game, allowing Gareth Southgate to put on his preferred spot-kick takers.

Many fans might have expected Foden to step up given his excellent technical ability and composure.

But the 24-year-old has pointed out that there are England stars who take penalties far more frequently.

“I would have taken one if I was still on the pitch but I think there’s players who take them regularly for their clubs so it makes sense for them to take them,” Foden told talkSPORT.

“I think that’s what Gareth did, put the best penalty-takers on the pitch. I’m glad he did that now because it definitely worked in our favour.

“I feel like it’s a confidence thing, if you belief you’re going to score you can definitely be a penalty-taker.

“Like I said, I wouldn’t have minded taking one if I was still on the pitch but there’s probably better penalty-takers than me.”

Alvaro Morata avoids Euro 2024 ban in yellow card confusion

Spain captain Alvaro Morata has avoided a Euro 2024 ban despite appearing to be shown two yellow cards at the tournament.

UEFA data suggested that the striker was booked in the quarter-final victory over Germany, with viewers also shown a graphic that a yellow card had been shown.

Morata was also booked earlier in the tournament. Yellow cards were wiped after the quarter-final, prompting assumptions that the former Chelsea player was suspended for Spain's semi-final against France.

However, UEFA have claimed that it was all an error and that Morata was not booked against Germany.

He is therefore free to play in tonight's semi-final.

Netherlands stars taunt England ahead of Euro 2024 semi-final

Netherlands duo Cody Gakpo and Micky van de Ven have risked their comments on England coming back to haunt them at Euro 2024.

The Liverpool and Tottenham pair cracked jokes about their semi-final opponents and claimed Gareth Southgate plays ‘defensive’ football in remarks that will stir motivation in the Three Lions camp.

It was put to Gakpo that the English media are even more critical of their country’s performances than their Dutch counterparts.

The 25-year-old interjected, quipping: "Is this even possible?"

Meanwhile, Van de Ven bluntly observed that England manager Southgate prefers defensively-minded football despite the vast pool of talent at his disposal.

Van de Ven said: "They (England) play very defensive. We can see they have lots of quality but that they play defensive football."

England will learn potential final opponent tonight

England will have one eye on tonight's semi-final while completing their last preparations ahead of facing the Dutch tomorrow.

Of course, Gareth Southgate's side will need to defeat the Netherlands to ensure their passage to back-to-back European Championship finals.

But getting in one last scouting mission on the team they may need to beat in Berlin on Sunday can only be an advantage...

Good morning

Good morning and welcome back to LIVE coverage of Tuesday's Euro 2024 news.

We'll have all the very latest from Germany as England prepare for their semi-final clash with the Netherlands.

There will also be the best build-up and coverage of Spain vs France tonight.

So stay tuned!

Mourinho annoyed by Portugal

Jose Mourinho was not impressed by Portugal at Euro 2024.

"Portugal wasn’t fantastic, despite reaching the quarter-finals," he told Sport TV. "We expected more. I was at the National Stadium for the Portugal v Croatia match and it didn’t smell good. I didn’t get a great feeling.

"During the tournament we were the team that was making progress, but we weren’t convincing. Often, when the moment of truth comes, these teams are stronger. This wasn’t the end of Portugal, there wasn’t any improvement in the team."

Koeman to continue until 2026

Ronald Koeman will stay on as Holland coach until the 2026 World Cup.

There was a clause in his deal that meant the KNVB had the power to sack him if the Netherlands did not reach the last-16.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Koeman joked: “As it is now. I don’t think they can get rid of me anymore.”

France out for 2012 revenge

The last time Spain met France at the Euros?

It was 2021, when he Spanish finally claimed their first competitive win over their rivals.
Xabi Alonso, earning his 100th cap, was the difference in Donetsk with the midfielder scoring both goals in Spain's 2-0 win. And they would go onto to retain the title won in 2008.

Former Dutch star fears penalties

Boudewijn Zenden has backed Netherlands to beat England, just so long as his former side can avoid penalties.

“Netherlands were not great at the beginning of the tournament," he told the Mirror. "But against Romania they found their rhythm and against Turkey they found the pure passion.

“If they can play like that against England, we will reach the final. England as a team have not been convincing at all during the whole tournament. But they have Jordan Pickford. From the very first penalty against Switzerland he played mind games and did crazy stuff in goal. We have bad memories of penalty shoot-outs and that makes me worried.”

Spain star 'better than Mbappe'

Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente has stoked the fires ahead of the clash with France by saying Nico Williams is a better player than Kylian Mbappe.

“Williams and Mbappe are two great footballers," he said today. "But I have to reply the same way and support my player. To me, my footballers are the best. Kylian Mbappe is an exceptional talent - but I will always say my player is better.”

A bullish La Fuente also claimed his team are the best in the world, regardless of the result tomorrow.

Shaw backs captain Kane

Luke Shaw has hit back at critics of England captain Harry Kane at Euro 2024.

"Harry brings leadership - when he's on the pitch he makes other players feel positive," he told reporters in Germany today.

"I think we all feel very positive when he's on the pitch because he's our leading goalscorer and at any time he can score a goal and make that difference. He's a very important player, he's our captain, he's our leader."

Foden says England 'proving people wrong'

Phil Foden has argued England are proving people wrong by continuing to win at Euro 2024.

He told talkSPORT: “Everyone's getting a bit of criticism. It's just part of the game, as long as you don't read too much into it and believe in what we're doing on the training field.

“Sometimes you have to block out that noise if we're ever going to achieve anything. Obviously, it's difficult and it doesn't help if there's a lot of criticism but you have to keep believing in what we're doing. We keep getting results so we're proving people wrong.

“We're not scared to say we can do better. Maybe we started the tournament slow but there were positives from the last game."

BBC issue Ronaldo statement

The BBC have responded to criticism over their 'Misstiano Penaldo' caption that went up live on air during Portugal v Slovakia.

"The caption was simply intended as a play on words, which we have done many times before on Match Of The Day analysis graphics," they said. "There was no offence intended toward Cristiano Ronaldo.

They continued: "At no point were the pundits overly critical of Ronaldo and in the context of the programme overall, the tone was consistently respectful towards him. However, we appreciate some viewers were unhappy with the graphic and the feedback has been passed on to the production team to help inform their work going forward."

England fans worry over Anthony Gordon

England fans have expressed concern over Anthony Gordon after a picture emerged of him standing on the outside of a team huddle during the Three Lions’ victory over Switzerland.

Newcastle fan page Magpie Media posted two images of Giordon on X, adding: “It is so disappointing to see Anthony Gordon being consistently ignored by the manager. It looks like it’s starting to affect him too, which is really sad to see.”

Mbappe told to play through pain barrier

France coach Didier Deschamps has told Kylian Mbappe he'll need to get used to playing in a mask for the foreseeable future.

Ahead of the final four game with Spain on Tuesday, he told reporters: “For Kylian it is a new situation with the mask. He has a field of vision that is modified. It has been a huge shock for him.

“He has had to get used to that because he will need to wear the mask for the next few weeks or even months.

“He came off (against Portugal) after 110 minutes because the extra-time was tough for him, like it was tough for everyone. Kylian had a back issue at the end of the season - and then he took that blow to his nose."

Alexander-Arnold rubbishes penalty claims

England penalty hero Trent Alexander-Arnold has dismissed reports that there was one team-mate who did not want to step up during the shootout.

The Liverpool man was filmed talking to brothers Tyler and Marcel after the win, with social media suggesting he told them just that.

“I’m not sure what actually was said but it definitely wasn’t that because as players we have no input on who takes the penalties," he told reporters today. "So, I would never say that about a team-mate.

“Everybody wants to take a penalty, if I am honest. Everyone has got that confidence. We practice and everybody is confident. It’s just about what order you are told to take it in.”

Southgate urged to axe Foden

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen thinks Gareth Southgate should omit Phil Foden for England's Euro 2024 semi-final with Holland.

"If he keeps doing what he does, with Foden on the left cutting in and Trippier as a left-back, then there will be a massive misbalance," the Dutchman, speaking on behalf of Free Bets, told Express Sport.

“He’s got certain players. Gordon has done well when he’s come on, Palmer has done well when he’s come on, Eze too. He’s got options.

“If I was Southgate I’d be thinking about getting a better balance and doing something different. Starting without Foden, bringing someone else in to shake things up, and going for it from the start.”

Gary Lineker wants England to scrap penalty bottle

Gary Lineker has urged England to use a different method to memorise the opponents' penalties if Wednesday's semi-final goes to another shoot-out.

Jordan Pickford was the hero against Switzerland by following instructions on his bottle to save Manuel Akanji's effort.

But Lineker has warned that a Netherlands player could look to hijack the method...

England vs Netherlands referee controversy

Felix Zwayer - the referee appointed by UEFA for England's Euro 2024 semi-final against the Netherlands - was once banned for match-fixing and rowed with Jude Bellingham.

Zwayer took a £250 bribe from fellow referee Robert Hoyzer, leading to a six-month suspension in 2005.

The scandal re-emerged 16 years later when Bellingham took issue with his display in a Bundesliga match, dropping a reminder of his controversial past in a post-match interview.

Express Sport has previously been told that UEFA and the German football authorities have strong reason to believe that Zwayer is fully rehabilitated.

Anthony Taylor returns to England

Anthony Taylor has reportedly flown back to England due to the slim chance he will officiate the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, even if Gareth Southgate's side aren't involved.

The Premier League referee looks to have featured for the final time, but it isn't thought to be related to backlash after Spain's 2-1 win against Germany.

Over 32,000 people signed a petition for Taylor to be reprimanded and the game replayed after he waved away claims for a German penalty.

A shot cannoned off Marc Cucurella's hand, but Taylor didn't deem it a punishable offence as the Chelsea star's arm was low and in a natural position.

Italy's Daniele Orsato is currently expected to oversee the Berlin final.

Rio Ferdinand picks Euro 2024 rising stars

Rio Ferdinand has named England's Kobbie Mainoo, Turkey's Arda Guler and Spain's Lamine Yamal as the three rising stars he's been most impressed by at Euro 2024.

He said: "Kobbie Mainoo, for starters, Arda Guler, the Turkish boy who’s carried the Turkish team on his back almost in the last game especially, was magnificent and then [Lamine] Yamal.

"Them three have been like super outstanding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen three teenagers in a tournament come to the fore[front] like this."

Cristiano Ronaldo may not be done yet

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that his Portugal career isn't yet over, despite previously suggesting that he was playing in his final Euros this summer.

Portugal crashed out on penalties against France in the quarter-finals after Ronaldo failed to score in all five games in Germany.

It's the first time in his illustrious career he has failed to find the net at an international tournament, intensifying speculation that the 39-year-old's time was almost up.

But he has hinted that his story with Portugal isn't yet complete when breaking his silence after suffering heartbreak last week.

"We wanted more. We deserved more. For us. For each one of you. For Portugal," Ronaldo wrote.

"We are grateful for everything you have given us and for everything we have achieved so far. On and off the field, I am sure that this legacy will be honoured and will continue to be built. Together."

BBC employees impacted by expenses issue

Some BBC staff have reportedly been left around £600 out of pocket due to an issue with the broadcaster's expenses system.

The Daily Mail report that the problem has lasted for almost two weeks, impacting those working tirelessly around Germany to ensure a smooth broadcast.

BBC policy states that staff can claim for all necessary expenditures reasonably incurred in the performance of their duties, likely including travel costs that haven't come cheap during Euro 2024.

Antoine Griezmann set to be dropped

France face Spain in the first semi-final of Euro 2024 tomorrow night, and Didier Deschamps is set to make a major decision.

According to L'Equipe, Antoine Griezmann is at risk of dropping out of the France team amid a disappointing tournament.

The 33-year-old has started four of Les Bleus' five games but is yet to contribute a single goal or assist.

It's claimed that Adrien Rabiot will replace Eduardo Camavinga alongside N'Golo Kante and Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield.

Ousmane Dembele is set to replace Griezmann after impressing as a substitute against Portugal, making up the attack with Randal Kolo Muani and Kylian Mbappe.

Luke Shaw shows true colours

Luke Shaw showed his class after England's penalty shoot-out win against Switzerland by comforting the opponents rather than celebrating.

As every England star ran over to Trent Alexander-Arnold after his spot kick secured quarter-final victory, Shaw was the exception.

The Manchester United defender immediately consoled the Swiss players before celebrating the success with his team-mates.

UEFA hand the Netherlands early advantage

The Netherlands have received an early advantage ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2024 semi-final against England.

Dutch supporters will be able to turn Borussia Dortmund's famous 'yellow wall' orange after UEFA handed them half of the ticket allocation for the 25,000-capacity stand.

Meanwhile, England haven't received any of the tickets directly, so Gareth Southgate's side may be up against the daunting atmosphere that Dortmund's opponents have historically struggled against.

England ban penalty talk

England have demanded that their players remain tight-lipped about the secrets of their recent penalty success.

The Three Lions have won three of their four penalty shoot-outs at major tournaments under Gareth Southgate.

And the England boss is desperate to keep his side's techniques and methods private after five perfect spot kicks against Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

Since Dan Ashworth's tenure at the FA, there has been a detailed review of winning penalty shoot-outs, including time taken and breathing techniques.

Southgate has banned his stars from discussing their secrets ahead of two more potentially tight games ahead.
