After the spring thaw, our streets team begins repairing any damage to roads caused over the winter. This includes road repaving and pothole repair.
Streets staff use smartphones to record the location of the potholes, the size, and the material used to repair the pothole. A photograph of the pothole is taken when it’s first reported, and a second photograph is taken when the repair is completed. All this information is stored in our Geographic Information System for further analysis and reporting at the end of ’pothole season.’
