Streets
The Town of Banff maintains approximately 86 kilometers of roadways plus alleys and eight parking lots. Our team includes:
- Streets manager
- Streets foreman
- Full-time crew members
- Seasonal summer crew member
Shifts run from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, and staff are on-call overnight. This means there is a streets crew member available 24/7/365. On-call staff can be activated by the streets supervisor or the RCMP.
What We Do
In addition to road maintenance, the streets crew also takes care of:
- Snow Clearing
- Annual Road Repaving
- Street Sweeping
- Potholes
- Graffiti and Sticker Removal
- Streetlights and Stoplights
- Line painting
- 3,500 street signs and poles
- Installation and removal of street pole banners
- Road closures and assists with special events
- Installation and removal of seasonal pageantry
- Daily inspections and maintenance including: signs, street lights, traffic lights, road conditions, parking lots, flags

- Certain roads in the Town of Banff and Banff National Park have weight restrictions. Review these Road Restrictions before hauling heavy equipment.
- If you're planning a special event, or wish to occupy part of the street or sidewalk for construction work, you must obtain a Street Use Permit.
