One person was injured following a police chase in Florence early Friday morning. It happened about 1:30 a.m.
According to Florence Police, the chase started when an officer saw a black Hyundai Sonata make an improper turn on Cloverdale Road. The vehicle led police on a pursuit of speeds reaching more than 90 mph.
Authorities say the driver eventually lost control and struck a light pole around County Road 42 and Chisholm Road. The driver was taken to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Florence Police say the incident remains under investigation.
