    Beautiful park
Beautiful free park. Lots of paths and ways to walk around. Loved the fountain, was able to get some amazing photos. Also saw the Mammuth, interesting find in our stroll. At the bottom of the park there is the zoo(entry for a fee). My only complaint about the park was that there appeared to be some homeless people laying around in the bushes. On hot sunny days be aware to wear sunscreen, there is not as much shade as I would have expected.

    Fabulous free park
Wonderful park that is free to vistitors and only 10 minutes walk from the Gothic Quarter. The 31 hectares include the city zoo (worth a visit), the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya, a small lake, museums, and a large fountain designed by Josep Fontserè (and it's said contributions by a young Antoni Gaudí). There are large paths used by walkers and cyclists. There are water fountains to refil a bottle/drink from and plenty of areas to sit. There was also a guy selling samosas (very good and very cheap - to use his words) and a kiosk selling drinks and snacks too. If you want somewhere free and chilled out to people watch - Parc de la Ciutadella is the one for you.

    Taste of life in Barcelona
Great city park used by tourists and locals of all ages. We could have spent hours watching how local people use the green space for playing guitars, saxophone, practise tight rope walking, sing and so much more. Entertainers around the beautiful fountain were encouraging children to burst huge bubbles while their parents sat in the cafe area. All that and there's still the zoo and museums to visit! A must to visit.

    Relaxing park
Wonderful relaxing park to walk or sit. We watched many locals and tourists all enjoying the park some socialising, reading, children playing and many excellent musicians which were very entertaining. The water features were not working due to the water shortages which was a shame. A must if you want to take some quiet time away from the hustle of the city.

    Plenty Going On
Some more relaxing surroundings away from the busy city, don't get me wrong it's still busy here but at least you have a little bit of nature to chill you out a bit. The centre piece of the parc is definitely the fountain which takes on an even more appealing appearance on a hot summer day. In addition to the fountain you have a Zoo, the Catalan Parliament containing the Art Museum and the Geological Museum. Occasionally you'll have some music on the band stand and see people dancing. If you wanted to you could easily spend a few hours here. Definitely worth a visit whether its to chill out on the grass and read a book all morning or just take 10 minutes to photograph the fountain.

Nice park with lots to see.
A nice park to stroll around in, with lots of different paths to take and things to see. We entered on the Arc de Triomf side and walked down to the zoo. It was very crowded on a sunny Sunday afternoon, full of locals and tourists alike. A lot of the area around the parliament building and gardens was fenced off which was unfortunate, but we did get to visit the newly reopened greenhouses (free of charge). You can rent rowboats on a little pond and there are lots of little green parrots flying around which was nice to see. The highlight of the park for me was the large water feature/monument (La Cascada). It was significantly bigger than I thought and just stunning. The emergency measures caused by the ongoing drought meant the fountains were not operating, but it was still amazing to behold.

    Nice walk
Lovely park. The entrance is great and the monument is beautiful. We saw also some elderly persons dancing. What was a nice surprise was at the back of the park, after you pass the second lake with boats and you go for the parliament. Well, be prepared and take some seeds with you as you will find the green parrots. And they can come to pick from your hand.

Situated to the East of Barcelona in the El Born district, this green space is on the site of a former military fortress, the Citadel, which was here until 1869 when the government official General Prim ordered the demolition of the building and the return of the land to the city and his statue on horseback is one of many throughout the park. However, the most impressive is the Monumental Waterfall, which is the Parc de la Ciutadella’s most eye-catching feature and opened in 1881. It is the work of the master builder Josep Fontseré, who was appointed to undertake the transformation of the area but was assisted in the Waterfall by a young Antoni Gaudí. It is also home to the Parlament de Catalunya building that was built in 1932.

A good-sized park with a lot of interesting places to explore. Make sure to check out the 2 greenhouses, the pond, and the arch.
