Good Option for Weekend In Brasilia

Reviewed 14 Mar 2020
Location and Access – Brasilia is one of the most famous “planned” cities in the World and the St Moritz is of course in a hotel zone. It is within walking distance of several of the city’s sights, but it has to be said that Brasilia does not seem to have been designed with the pedestrian in mind. Within the immediate vicinity of the hotel are a couple of small bars and a very tiny convenience store. Eateries can be found in a large mall (Shopping Conjunto Nacional) across the road (accessed by a steep flight of concrete steps and across a large car park). 20 to 25 minutes by car from Brasilia Airport

Google Earth – The hotel can be seen on Street View

Architectural Style – A high rise 20 (21) storey building surrounded by similar

Reception – Check in and check out dealt with efficiently and professionally. As I speak no Portuguese, I found the front of house staff very helpful in ordering room service and also assisting with a complicated check in for a flight

Public Areas – There is a small manicured garden at the entrance with a water feature. In the reception area comfortable settees. On the roof top an enclosed very contemporary dining room and an open area with splash pool, sunbathing, steam room and jacuzzi (extra cost for the latter) all with fantastic city views. Décor and maintenance all clean and fresh. 4 lifts operated by key card for security were reasonably efficient serving floors up to floor 20 and a separate lift connecting floor 20 to the roof top

Guest Rooms – Mine was on the 12th floor and had a kitchenette with huge fridge, microwave and breakfast bar a bedroom with seating area and a bathroom. The shower in particular will linger long in my memory with an unlimited powerful supply of hot water

Furnishings and fittings were all of good quality and cleanliness excellent

Unfortunately, a few negative points. No tea or coffee making facilities. The TV was in an awkward situation and needed two remote controls to work - changing channels was problematic as was adjusting volume – and in any case only one English language channel. WiFi was OK. The close proximity of the next door apartment block meant that if the bathroom door was open or net curtains pulled back privacy was somewhat compromised!

Food Offering - During my stay the restaurant was open for breakfast only. This was generally excellent quality although only a small range of hot items and no eggs cooked to order. I ordered room service on two occasions and as the hotel was full there was a long wait for delivery. Price quantity and quality was however very good

Value for Money – I was content with the amount I paid bearing in mind the ridiculously high cost of hotel accommodation in other capital cities around the World

X Factor – Sited in a fairly central location the hotel is a great base for anyone wanting to explore the city. However, it seemed to me that there are few restaurants and bars, nightlife or entertainment options within walking distance

Very friendly stuff, nice rooms with little kitchen and great view to main avenue makes my stay awesome. Eating breakfast from the top roof with the view makes your trip top. There is also a little gym and whirpool with big steem sauna.
For me, it was easy to walk the city and go back to the hotel . For walking tours it is ideal. Late check outs posible.

We were at a conference in Brasilia, and this was the conference hotel. Nothing fancy, but it was a very comfortable stay. We had a corner room on the 17th floor, with fantastic views! The breakfast was excellent. It was a little difficult to get a drink on the rooftop, but once we figured out that it was easy to bring things in from the little shop, that wasn't an issue.

Room tip: Ask for a corner room on a high floor.

I was here for two nights during a business trip. The bedroom was spacious and includes a small kitchen with a microwave oven, fridge, and some dishware. Cable TV had plenty of options, including ESPN, but wi-fi wasn't good enough for work besides sending emails (I couldn't upload a file to dropboix, for instance). Breakfast was good and the rooftop restaurant has quite a view of the city. Great location if you have business in Asa Norte.

My wife and I stayed at Saint Moritz for a week on business in Brasilia. The location of the hotel is very convenient for accessing the Plano Piloto or any other part of the city.

We rented a car but probably could have used just Uber. Driving in Brasilia takes some getting used to due to the plan of the streets. Spend a little time looking at the plan and realize that left turns are not allowed for the most part to reduce traffic.

The hotel had a great cafe da manhã and the service in general was excellent and friendly. The rooms are simple but functional. Our room was in a corner allowing for windows on two walls which gave us scenic views and lots of light. The room has a small refrigerator, microwave, and limited dishes, glasses, etc. The staff will try to provide other things but access to more than the basics is limited.

Parking is below the hotel. Spaces seem small for Americans but lots of vacancies. The hotel has a small pool, a sauna, spa, and, for most hotels, a nice work out area with cardio machines, weights, mats, etc in a room on the 21st floor with a great view

We enjoyed our stay and would book a room there again in the future

Room tip: Choose a corner room for the view( rooms ending in 01 are one option)

Man... that roof top was amazing! Easily visible are the cathedral, Congress, ministries, library, National Museum, and National Theatre. Great view during the day- but spectacular at night.

My room was good, including a full-sized refrigerator and a cool high rise view. The wifi was a little inconsistent, particularly when trying to use the Face Time option on WhatsApp.

In terms of location, this was excellent. I walked to the museum and cathedral, and I was able to pick up a few necessities at the Conjunto Nacional next door. There were other, nicer shopping areas within walking distance as well. And the taxi stand just outside was really helpful. I didn't meet any English speaking drivers, but I was able to use Spanish.

The only hiccup was some of the front desk staff struggling with English, particularly in regards to finding my reservation. More solid multilingualism would have been helpful, but I was speaking a foreign language, and ultimately, things were squared.

I recommend.
