The hotel is in a good location with local supermarket, shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Massy supermarket has all you need including items from Waitrose ! The ability to use the sister hotel on the beach Bay Gardens Beach resort is an added bonus , it’s 15 mins walk ( or for the lazy 5 mins by shuttle bus ) and Reduit beach is stunning and their are plenty of beach chairs , plus if you are on an all inclusive you can use their restaurant & bar. Covid precautions mean that a twice daily temperature check is taken , masks are warn by most guests when walking around the sites along with plenty of hand sanitisers . Sounds great so far .. and it is , a couple of small tweaks I would have given it 5 stars
1) some information in the room detailing. Food times , bar times , how to change beach towel etc , the menus at dinner are laminated so something similar could be available and be still covid secure
2) Food menu is good and there is fantastic weekly managers party with music and buffet. But if you are hotel more than a week the menu becomes a bit limited , would suggest a nightly “Specials” to be added that focuses on local cuisines
3) The 3 small pools are good , but unless you are at the one by the bar you have to wander over .. often soaking wet to get a drink . Would suggest one of the bar staff periodically, once an hour go to the other two pools collecting orders.
Staff at hotel are friendly, but restricted by masks so unfortunately sometimes people may think they are not .. but they are.
With respect to St Lucia itself , don’t expect a cheap holiday as to get around the island the best way is through expensive tours , hiring a car would take nerves of steel 😀, but if all you want is sun and beach this is ideal.

With a couple of notable exceptions, the staff are grumpy, slow and behave like guests are an inconvenience. Most of the rooms back immmediately out onto a loud patio/bar area at which they play music both at night and at breakfast. Two nights of the week this is very loud dance music. They also have curtains which do not block out any of the light from this area. I asked to move rooms which was facilitated but still in the same area so not resolving the issue. Not the attitude or style I expected from how the hotel markets itself and very different from the type of customer service found across the rest of the island.

Room tip: Only accept rooms away from first courtyard and check quality of curtains

Dear Krrrrrj,

Thank you for staying with us, it was indeed a pleasure having you.

We are saddened that you found our team members grumpy, slow and behave like you our valued client (s) is an inconvenience. Please accept our sincere apologies for these infractions.

Notably, the hotel has been running at full occupancy and this makes it very difficult to facilitate a room change from one category to another.

We do trust that you will reconsider staying with us in the future to ensure you receive 100% Heartfelt care which is synonymous to the Bay Gardens Brand.

Best wishes from St. Lucia and the Bay Gardens Hotel.

All inclusive drinks available are excellent and large comfortable room but this is about all that’s positive about the hotel and it’s sister hotels. The staff are the most unresponsive, slowest and unapologetically surly I think I can ever recall at both hotels. Consistently wait 45/60 minutes for food once ordered at lunch and dinner. Kitchens havnt the staff to cope and the ones out on the floor couldn’t care a less. Rooms are big but often not cleaned or restocked. Pools are fine. Staff at receptions are also a let down in their demeanour. Some entertainment is good on Monday and Wednesday. There are two staff that are a pleasure interact with young lad and I think the manageress in the evening sitting. There is a shuttle to other hotel but can walk it and go to beach in 15 mins where you will also find the same poor exceptionally slow service ( in fact slower at lunch over hour for lunch orders) and the root cause is again understaffed kitchen and bar and processes. How can a hotel at lunch sitting 100 plus operated with 2 people working in bar and two in kitchen hence the lengthily delays. This is compounded when it then takes the plentiful wait staff 10-15 minutes to take your order once seated.
Shame all in all as the hotel has much potential

Hotel is located close to the main Rodney Bay "strip" of restaurants and bars. Our room was fine, and it was lovely to have a balcony and fridge in the room. Coffee and tea provided, but no milk after the first day, and on three days out of six the cleaners failed to leave the correct number of towels in our room.
The hotel has three small pools, although there are nowhere near enough sunbeds and umbrellas to match the number of rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel's recruitment policy seems to be to employ the only unfriendly St Lucians on the island! Breakfast buffet a bit of a farce - you can wait for ever to be seated while staff blank you, or just find your own table as we did after the first day. Most of the waiting staff can be best described as surly - with the notable exception of the short young lad (unfortunately didn't get his name) who had only recently started and who puts his more experienced colleagues to shame with his enthusiasm and desire to please. Buffet items changed each day, and were tasty enough, but just one person to do both the toast and serve food for everyone meant longish queues. When I ordered drinks at the poolside bar it took ages while the bar staff had a chat with each other. . There is a complimentary hourly shuttle bus to the sister hotel on the beach, although the first one doesn't leave until 9.30am and its worth turning up early to ensure a seat (and ensure that it hasn't left early!).
We enjoyed our stay, but don't understand why they don't employ better staff - it must be horrible wearing masks all day, but its the same for staff at all the other places we visited in St Lucia and we found them universally happy and friendly.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Bay Gardens Hotel. Having chosen the all inclusive option I was pleasantly surprised to be able to order from the main menu for both lunch and dinner.
Although it was pretty chaotic at times all food was delicious as were the drinks especially the local beer (Piton) and the cocktails. This was also a very big plus to have a bar that you ordered drinks from rather than free poured yourself from other all inclusive holidays.
Spent most of the days at the beach but also enjoyed the pool at the Inn next door. Having all the facilities across all hotels to use as well as an ideal location this is an ideal place for families and couples. The hotels are owned by a Saint Lucian so really feel that this really shows in how the staff are and how the hotel is set out and run.
Had an amazing time didn't want the holiday to end and will be telling people about the place and will definitely be returning. Thank you
