Hotel is located close to the main Rodney Bay "strip" of restaurants and bars. Our room was fine, and it was lovely to have a balcony and fridge in the room. Coffee and tea provided, but no milk after the first day, and on three days out of six the cleaners failed to leave the correct number of towels in our room.
The hotel has three small pools, although there are nowhere near enough sunbeds and umbrellas to match the number of rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel's recruitment policy seems to be to employ the only unfriendly St Lucians on the island! Breakfast buffet a bit of a farce - you can wait for ever to be seated while staff blank you, or just find your own table as we did after the first day. Most of the waiting staff can be best described as surly - with the notable exception of the short young lad (unfortunately didn't get his name) who had only recently started and who puts his more experienced colleagues to shame with his enthusiasm and desire to please. Buffet items changed each day, and were tasty enough, but just one person to do both the toast and serve food for everyone meant longish queues. When I ordered drinks at the poolside bar it took ages while the bar staff had a chat with each other. . There is a complimentary hourly shuttle bus to the sister hotel on the beach, although the first one doesn't leave until 9.30am and its worth turning up early to ensure a seat (and ensure that it hasn't left early!).
We enjoyed our stay, but don't understand why they don't employ better staff - it must be horrible wearing masks all day, but its the same for staff at all the other places we visited in St Lucia and we found them universally happy and friendly.
