We stayed for 2 nights en route to London; myself and my 17 year old daughter. The location is great, right on the Highline, surrounded by nice shops and restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a small gym and the rooms were a decent size for New York, with comfortable beds. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to a friend.

I did not pesonally stay at this location but my boss did and I needed to contact the hotel to obtain the invoice/folio. I spoke to Ms. G. Hurst who was phenomenal.
The fact that live person with a friendly voiced picked up after one ring (no automated machine) and was able to help me immediately (no holds, transfers), and made sure I received the email with information I requested left me flabbergasted. Kudos for providing real human interactions and solution-oriented service and particularly thanks to Ms. Hurst who was fun, approachable, helpful, and very polite.

As you can see by my reviews I've stayed at countless 5 star hotels nationwide, moving forward when I travel to NYC I'll always be in the West Village, Meatpacking District and I'll be staying at The Gansevoort. I recently returned from a friends 50th birthday in which I booked the Gansevoort, we called ahead on the way from JFK and they allowed me to order room service so our food arrived 15 minutes after checking in because we had to get to MSG to see Billy Joel!! The food was fantastic, service impeccable, the hotel was perfect in every way. Our room 1016 had unbelievable views, a great little balcony and the rooftop pool was a huge added bonus. The location is the BEST in the Meatpacking, Sammy the Manager at The Chester was incredibly accommodating and opened the kitchen to bring my friend a Birthday dessert after Billy Joel! I absolutely loved everything about The Gansevoort and look forward to returning with my wife!!
