The oceanfront views are absolutely stunning. One of the best parts of the trip was watching sunrise and sunset from the balcony. It was the perfect location because, in addition to the incredible ocean views, it was a quick walk to Bar Harbor and very close with drive to Acadia. The location is perfect and the staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly
We were thrilled to have chosen this beautiful inn to spend our anniversary. The location couldn’t be better with the magnificent ocean views and walking distance to everything. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful and the property is immaculate and lovely. An oceanfront room with a balcony was simply the best. We loved dinner in the gorgeous Reading Room for our special evening and lunches at the Terrace Grille were excellent! The continental breakfast was plentiful and well organized. We highly recommend BHI to all. There are many lovely choices but we knew we made the right one!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Bar Harbor in for 5 days in late August/early September. It was our first trip to Bar Harbor, and I am so glad we booked our stay at the Bar Harbor Inn. We stayed in the Ocena Lodge, and the sunrise views from our room were incredible! We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, sipping coffee and watching the sun come up over the Harbor. After sunrise, it was so convenient to grab a quick breakfast from the continental breakfast buffet and then head out for a morning of hiking in Acadia. Most afternoons, we enjoyed lounging in the beautiful infinity pool and hot tub overlooking the water, and then taking the five minute walk into the town of Bar Harbor to explore the shops and restaurants. The location was perfect.
I was surprised by how good all the food was throughout our stay. The pastries at the continental breakfast were perfect. We ate at the Terrace Grill for lunch and the Reading Room for dinner and breakfast. One never knows what to expect from hotel restaurants, but all of our meals were outstanding! Highly recommended!
We had another fantastic visit. We stayed on the third floor. The many windows provided great light in the morning and at night the skylight gave us a clear view of the stars.
Our room also had a spiral to a cozy turret with a tv and 360degree views.
Breakfast was amazing! Blueberry pancakes with Real maple syrup!

We really enjoyed our time at the BHI. At first, when we got there, I was a bit worried because it is a big resort and I wondered if it would be too crowded. Nothing to worry about- it was quiet and beautiful. We had an oceanfront room on the first floor and the view was magical. Watching the boats go and the changing of the sky over the water as the day went on was great. Our balcony gave us the opportunity to sit outside with a glass of wine and just relax. The breakfast was delicious with ample choices and we got to sit outside with wonderful views. It served as a perfect base to visit Acadia and other destinations downeast. Great place to go!
