My fiancé and I visit Memories Flamenco every March to celebrate our birthdays. We love this resort! It is a small resort, with the most beautiful beach. The staff here are so nice and take good care of you. The beach bartenders (Odelsi & Blue Eyes) are awesome! If you are a picky eater, you may want to pack more snacks (chips, mr. noodles, cereal etc.). There were eggs/omelets 4/7 days and bread every morning. Lunch & Dinner buffet is good but repetitive (can't control the shortages, they are across the entire island), but you will always have grilled chicken, beef or fish. There is also a pasta station. The 3 restaurants are good and a nice change from the buffet. For those that drink pop, bring some. Our room was great, they made sure we had a King and our maid Yury was so nice. We were in building 4, which is nice and close to the beach and the Snack Bar. Our room was ocean-view that overlooked the sunset every night. If you're thinking of going to Cuba, do it! But lower your expectations and you'll be fine. So many people are rude to the staff, regarding shortages. This is not their fault and they do the best they can with what they have. When bringing money for tipping I suggest bringing $5 bills or $1 bills if you're American. Staff at the resort are not able to use loonies & toonies and frequently ask visitors to exchange them for bills. Must have: beach chair clips. It can get a bit windy on the beach. We spend 99% of our time there so we make sure to bring clips that hold our towels to our chairs. There are plenty of beach chairs and beach huts. We walk the beach in both directions, it is a beautiful walk especially at low tide. We are looking forward to returning next year!
