Beautifully relaxing stay here.An escape from it all for a special wedding anniversary.A garden Suite gave us our privacy with a large terrace, seperate lounge and garden and seconds to the pool where there is plenty of room to sunbathe.
We are not really breakfast people but some nice things to choose from and we tried the afternoon restaurant menu which was great.Large in room American fridge with snacks and drinks (mini bar) at really good prices and restocked daily !
Cocktails and sangria on your terrace all lovely. The bed is to die for so comfortable and with that and the air con it was hard to get out of. Lovely grounds and you can also get served by the pool. The resort is small, quiet and zen a real oasis and every one of the guests were very friendly. It is minutes walk from yumbo if that is your thing so you can eat and party in dozens of places.
Highlight of the whole stay was Ralf ! Dedicated, friendly, hard working (never stops) the place would be totally lost without him. What a lovely guy ! Thanks for everything ❤️ Rod & Kristof ❤️

Half way through a week away at this amazing resort! Everything is perfect! The team here are (just that!) fabulous with nothing being too much trouble! They really want their guests to have a fantastic time!
We will have booked a 10 day stay this time next year before we leave!

Room tip: If there are any problems - they will have anticipated them and put them right before they actually are a problem!

Nice room in a peaceful and beautiful garden, with a nice pool and jacuzzi. It’s a small hotel, so it never gets crowded, everyone gets a sunbed. Friendly staff provides excellent service during the day, you can easily order lunch and drinks from your sunbed. Great beakfast. Extensive and affordable mini-bar.
In the evenings most guests go out to eat and drink, so it’s rather empty at night, and obviously not a place to party, but it’s a short walk from Yumbo, where you’ll get all the party and action you want.
Will definetly return here.

Second stay. Fabulous. Upgraded to a suite just off the pool area - bedroom, bathroom, sitting room plus private terrace to sit or lounge on - and a private garden.
You cannot be more central. You can always park just outside, off the main road, and the Yumbo and a good supermarket are both less than five minutes away. bed was the comfiest ever - amazing pillows. Breakfast - buffet plus cooked to order - was delicious and leisurely. The staff are a delight. We booked to return in March before we even left.

Room tip: The suites with private sunbathing are the cosiest

So glad I chose The Birdcage this time! Having stayed at a number of gay resorts in Playa/Maspalomas, I chose The Birdcage this time, and I am so happy I did! Everything from start to end is a 5star for me. Greeted by management at arrival was a good start along with greetings from other guests.
I had booked a suite and got the Phoenix Cage. Could not be happier with what I got; a sizeable livingroom with lots of storage for clothes and the most filled minibar ever, seperate bedroom with a queensized bed with a duvet (and fluffy pillows to match) in stead of the normal thin sheet, and the biggest bathroom of the resort with both a bathtub and a seperate colourchanging rainshower. Lovely!
The grounds gives the feel of an oasis, with palms and lots of vegetation in addition to the pool, jacuzzi, lounges and a seperate "sandy beach" area.
The staff could not be friendlier, especially Ralf, who was a ray of light by himself, always making sure everything was perfect! Cudos to him!
Breakfast was served everyday, with a small buffet and kitchen options, and a lunchmenu from noon could be ordered poolside if wanted.
The place feels calm and relaxed for visitors, yet the Yumbo is only a short walk away for your party out nights.
So happy I chose to be a birdie this time, and I now dont see any reasons to choose something else for my next stay.
See you again this fall!

An extremely well run intimate resort with attention to every detail. The management and staff have a family feel to them. I have stayed here three times now. I was unlucky first time as some building renovation was taking place but the results of this are now there for all to see and well worth the minor inconvenience. Perfect quiet tucked away location and yet just a few minutes walk to the Yumbo and all its night life. A very pleasant turnover of friendly guests during the week as well.
