I will be completely honest, I was leery to book here with so many mixed reviews but I ended up and so happy I did. We checked in after midnight and had zero issues. We were in our room within 15 minutes. The rooms are dated, its typical hotel furniture but I didnt have stains that we noticed and everything worked. The bathroom was nice with a huge wrap around mirror and deep jacuzzi tub. The only issue we had was the paint above the shower ceiling was peeling.
The entire stay was nice. We spent time at the beach and pool. The pool was heated and was not very crowded. Make sure you get a towel card and bring it to the pool to get your towels! The beach chairs are free, umbrellas, beds and the huts are extra (get there early and get your chairs - the beach fills up). There are some nice employees who walk around taking food and drink orders which was great and the food was wonderful! The sun disappears on the beach around 2:30 because of the huge buildings next door so do your beach early! Pool gets shady even earlier.
The hotel has a coffee shop in the lobby with decent coffee and pastries. There is a pool side restaurant which was very disappointing. We were told to sit wherever and found a table in the middle of the restaurant. 3 other groups sat around us a little after we did. They got menus, water and coffee, we weren't even acknowledged. My boyfriend got up and grabbed a menu hoping then someone would stop over and take our order, still nothing. 2 of the tables received their food and we still hadnt ordered. The 2 waiters and 1 waitress were busy, but we would have loved to had breakfast there. Finally we got up and left. 20 minutes was way too long to wait to even get a cup of coffee. We went elsewhere.
Since it was valentines weekend, the restaurant there had valentine specials which overrode the daily specials (I was so looking forward to surf and turf as their daily special). Once we heard you couldnt get the daily special because of the valentines menu, we decided to go elsewhere.
The hotel is across the street from a shell gas station (great for snacks) but walk a little farther north (less than half a mile) just before the CVS and you will find a plaza with amazing restaurants from all over. We did mexican, cuban and peruvian food then ended up the night with Crepes! This is all we ate for 2 days, we couldnt wait to go back. It was so good...definitely hit that shopping center, you will not be disappointed.
The hotel had a superbowl party on the pool deck by the bar hut. It was fun, there were free drinks and prizes and a great DJ with music before the game. It did get really cold out there so we left at halftime and went back to our room. But it was a good time when we were there.
The hotel was busy with lots of people checking in/out but never had any noise issues on our floor or any problems whatsoever. There was never a big wait for the elevator, even though they are tiny. We were able to keep our luggage in storage since out flight wasnt until later that evening, This was great since we spent the afternoon on the beach.
The restaurant on the pier is decent, but pricey. We only ate there once.
We took a Uber to the airport and it was $35. We also went to Hard Rock casino which was worth a trip ($31). The hotel is in between Miami and FLL so we flew into Miami and out of FLL to get the cheapest flights and both rides were about the same price.
Overall, we were happy with our choice to stay here, we will be back. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and never had issues (minus the poolside restaurant).
