Avoid this place it's a SCAM. I'm fuming that my resort fee what more then the cost of my room. How can a resort fee be more expensive then the room rate. There is no driving water stations and the bar staff give you attitude when asking for a bacic cup of drinking water. How can a hotel not have access to fresh drinking water ?? What is my resort fee being used for ? Why provide a ice machine if there is no access to drinking water. The staff attitude stinks and not just one of them. They need to re-train there staff on customer service and the resort fee when I booked pluss tax was 180 at time of booking but when I checked in it was over 200. How can they change there resort fee on a whim? The pools are closed so sure they should be dropping the resort fee based on facilitys not being open to hotel gusts. We also pay resort fees to cover all the restaurants, bars and shops but you still have to pay and all the shops, bars and restaurants and they still expect a tip when the reception said my resort fees covers all amenities. I will and I do tip in america but I won't tip for shocking service. I would not come back to the Strat even if they was to offer me a free stay I would never come stay back here. It's a con and there are much better places in Vegas. Spend your vacation else where. The golden spike is an amazing budget friendly hotel for budget savy traveller's.

Firstly, regarding the resort fee, it is unfortunate that it appeared higher at check-in than at the time of booking. The resort fee covers various amenities, including access to our pools (when open), fitness center, Wi-Fi, and other services. While we understand your frustration, our resort fee remains consistent and is not adjusted on a whim.

We also want to address the issue of drinking water. We do have water stations available, and our bar staff should be accommodating in providing basic requests like a cup of drinking water. We are sorry if this was not your experience and will ensure our staff is reminded of the importance of excellent customer service.

As for the pools being closed, we apologize for any inconvenience. Pool closures can occur due to maintenance or unforeseen circumstances, and we strive to inform our guests promptly.

We regret any misunderstanding about the resort fee covering all amenities. While the resort fee provides access to certain facilities and services, it does not cover all expenses, such as dining at our restaurants or shopping. Tipping is customary in the U.S. for services received, but we respect your choice not to tip if the service did not meet your expectations.

Had a great time. Checkin was smooth, quick, and friendly. Coffee shop restaurant was perfect. Room was clean, well prepared, and fine. Wifi was good. Shower was excellent. Casinp was friendly and well staffed. Valet parking was excellent.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The ice machine across from our room was leaking water causing wet carpet right outside our door. Staff put a loud floor dryer right outside our door which we had to deal with the entire time we were there. The room was run down and smelled awful. Also, our bathroom sink would not drain. Complained to the front desk and they did nothing about it. Just looked at me and said okay, is there anything else? Terrible response and terrible stay.

Room tip: Far better hotels to stay at in Las Vegas

I had not stayed here in years and did not expect much but this was a terrible experience in every way possible. Check in took a really long time. The nightmare began at check in as they kept trying to up sell me on a different room. To make matters worse they sent me to the wrong elevator and wrote the wrong room number on the room key. I had to go all of the way back down across the hotel and wait to check in again. They did not even apologize for their screw up. So after another really long trip back up to the room I opened the door and wow lets just say it's the worst room I have ever stayed at in Las Vegas. I felt dirty just being in the room. The bathroom was beyond disgusting. My biggest complaint wasn't even the room it was the way the staff had an I don't care attitude at check in. On top of everything else they are now charging for parking. If you are thinking of staying there do not.

After reading the reviews was worried about my stay. However I was pleasantly surprised. The check in was smooth. The rooms in the Central are updated nice and very comfortable beds. There is a Starbucks downstairs which is very convenient for our mornings. We are traveling for softball so looking for comfortable beds and breakfast in the morning. In and out of the hotel is very easy. We will probably book again next month for our travels.

Room tip: Stayed in the central tower.

We’ve stayed here numerous time, 10+. But sadly it has declined badly over the years. We paid for a newly refurbished room ($1600 for 4 nights)… the standard was so poor, we changed rooms twice and in the end settled for the 3rd which I’d class as no better than 2 star. All you could smell in the corridors was drugs & all the reception team wanted was more money still to move to another room. We won’t return - AVOID!

Room tip: Avoid the place! We paid for a newly refurbished room… it hadn’t been upgraded in years.
