We rented a pet friendly room. After a struggle to open sliding glass door, I entered to tiny room and immediately slipped on a sliding cheap rug that was near the door. Wrenched my back that I had several surgeries on. When informing the owner he said he also has bad back and I should go to Walgreens for heating pad. After several confrontations with the owner police were called. Owner is rude obnoxious and could care less if you rent there or go somewhere else which is what he told us. Very bad post COVID experience. Never again Alouette.

We rented a pet friendly unit. $262 a night. Very small room with no bathroom space at all. The curtains were too long and very shabby looking. Tv on side wall not even facing beds. Sliding door unable to lock from inside called the owner he offered to put a skinny piece of wood in slat to secure door. Fred / owner is very rude, uncaring, and lacking in hospitality which I’m sure he can care less about since he owns several run down properties in Old Orchard Beach. Maybe he would be kinder if he took some time off and stopped renting horrible units. And took time to upgrade his unsightly units.

This property is directly on a stunning beach and allows dogs in many rooms. We have stayed there twice and we would again.
Parking is tight. Rooms are beach-real-estate cozy, so we opted for Apartment 8 to have a bit more space. Apt 8 has a full kitchen. Having a sink, counter space, & full size fridge was convenient. The bonus of Apt 8 was a porch/ deck on two sides which DOUBLED our lounging space during nice weather. So sweet to have dedicated outside space to kick-back and enjoy the nice ocean breeze.
In my opinion the space would work for a family, but the layout is less ideal for two couples. I would be comfortable there with 3 adults, but probably not 4. Our rooms were clean.
I was offered a quick peek in the new building which is very nice, everything you would expect, and lovely views (but not dog friendly).
