Our main priority in visiting Old Orchard Beach was to be in close proximity to the beach, which this hotel is. You can easily walk out to the beach from the property, and there are beach chairs easily available to rent (for $5 per day). It's also about a 10-15 min walk to the pier and the rest of the town, which was nice.

Other than the location, this place left a lot to be desired. Staff was lukewarm at best, and unenthusiastic at worst. Room was very humid when we arrived, and although the AC unit did cool down the room, it was horribly noisy and disruptive to our sleep both nights. The beds were small, not very comfortable and equipped with rough sheets and crappy pillows. Shower curtain was stained brown on the bottom and all three of us felt gross in the shower. Room was weirdly shaped and hard to spread out our stuff in. Carpet seemed old and dingy. I did not get a super "clean" vibe from the place, as it is in drastic need of an update.

Location is good but prices did not justify the mediocre quality of the rest of the place. Would not stay again.

We were there for Corvette weekend. We were greeted warmly at the front desk. Our room was #36 which was near the water. We had 2 double beds, a dining area, kitchenette and small bath. The kitchenette was stocked with a two burner hot plate, plates, pots and pans. It was just what the two of us needed. The room was clean. The housekeeper was very attentive and restocked our room when asked. We did use the indoor pool. There is an outdoor heated pool around the corner. The Alouette Cafe was takeout only. The motel was crowded but very quiet. The attraction is the beach, so we were happy. We hope to visit again soon.

We got a great deal during a time when the place is supposed to be packed with tourists but is not, due to the covid-19 shutdowns. We decided to enjoy our state! The room was somewhat run-down looking, but overall very clean. It took a while to get any hot water from the shower head. And there was a big tear in our balcony screen (pic.provided). Customer service is excellent and the breakfast from the onsite restaurant was really delicious. Also, the pool was supposedly 82 degrees, BUT it was ice cold. It really deserves s "good" rating, which is better than average.

After not having visited OOB in several years, we chose the Alouette Beach Resort for a much needed weekend getaway. This was our first visit to this resort and everything was perfect, from easy booking online and checking in early to a beautiful oceanfront unit which was spotless and looked to have been recently renovated. The building was older, but seems to have been kept up nicely. Housekeeping was on top of things and made sure we had all we needed for the room.

The beach was as beautiful as ever and we enjoyed watching the colorful sunrise one morning. This hotel has an indoor pool which we did not use. Looked like a nice option in the event of rain though. We had two breakfasts from the Alouette Cafe. Both were delicious.

We had a very nice time at this resort and look forward to returning. Being able to have a choice of location on the property when making reservations is an added plus. Love the idea of coming back for an offseason or shoulder season visit.

My fiance and I stayed for 2 nights during our leaf peeping adventure. We absolutely loved it! Staff were all friendly and upon check in we were even given an option to upgrade our room for a small fee. We had a room that was ground level with a direct ocean view! The room was clean and offered dishware, small cooking stove, refridgerator, even dish soap! We will definitely be back!

Room 63 was not vacuumed under the bed as prior occupant left a toothbrush and toy car. We were suspicious of the Quality of cleaning. The back burner of the cook top did not work and the front burner is the leaning tower. The coffee pot took 15 minutes to drip two cups of coffee. Two smokers sat under our outside ocean view deck every hour and we had to leave the deck and close the slider. Signs need to be posted below all decks. The lock on the outside door did not work from the inside so we had to put a chair against the knob at night. The water takes 15 minutes of full flow to become hot. There were no sharp knives, not even one steak knife. Probably my sister who is 67 years old and complaining was glad! There is no hair blower so remember to bring your own. You know who we were as our hair was standing on end. The WIFI is sketchy at best and bounces you out on a timely schedule.

We rented a pet friendly unit. $262 a night. Very small room with no bathroom space at all. The curtains were too long and very shabby looking. Tv on side wall not even facing beds. Sliding door unable to lock from inside called the owner he offered to put a skinny piece of wood in slat to secure door. Fred / owner is very rude, uncaring, and lacking in hospitality which I’m sure he can care less about since he owns several run down properties in Old Orchard Beach. Maybe he would be kinder if he took some time off and stopped renting horrible units. And took time to upgrade his unsightly units.

Hi Patricia, I'm sorry you feel this way. The room booked was a room with 2 full size beds, 15 yards from the beach, pet friendly and had a kitchenette. While the bathroom may be a little small, I'm aware of the situation and that several other accommodations were provided which were declined. In addition to this, he provided an oceanfront luxury suite at the same rate as the room booked, in efforts to appease you. I also am aware that when we could not keep you in the same room for an additional night (as not pet friendly and was previously booked), he refunded your night stay. As a small family owned business, I find it disheartening to write such a misleading review. Best, Jessica

I would NOT recommend booking this hotel if you will be traveling with your dog. I recently booked a "pet friendly room" online. Later I had my reservation canceled because they didn't have any pet friendly rooms available. The specific room I book was labeled as " pet friendly" in several places. VERY misleading. They had horrible customer service as well. If traveling with your furry friend youd be better off staying at one of the other Pet Friendly hotels in old orchard beach.

Hello Kelly J, I apologize we were not able to accommodate you and your doggy. We do love our furry friends, however, only allow for a certain amount of pet friendly rooms. I did review your confirmation letter and did not see this room listed as pet friendly, however, it was noted that you were bring a pet. With this being said, unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate. It's also disheartening that you gave a review of a 1 when you never stayed with us as your reservation wasn't until 7/17/21. When we booked the hotel, the rooms we selected that were depicted were of another hotel, or newer rooms. This place was bad! The rooms looked nothing like what we chose, they were in the Wind Song building. I would characterize them as a place I would never stay, not if you paid me, and yet I paid about $300 per night with tax!

The rooms were dirty, not, I did not clean this week dirty, but most of the surfaces had not seen a good cleaning in months, maybe years. I did not want to sleep here, or even use the coffee pot. We used 10$ worth of sanitizing wipes to clean the room so that we could reduce potential covid-19, not in any way comfortable they did this on our behalf.

The beds were dead, my wife and I rolled to the middle. The toilet was pressed up against the opposite wall, not meant for anyone over 5ft tall. The A/C worked well, a plus. The Ocean View we paid for, was partially blocked by porch railing and an adjacent fence. The chairs on the porch were $8 cheap chairs that were dirty and unstable. The unit itself was 40 years old. The pillows for the trundle bed were covered with the decorative covers usually never washed, we were grossed out that our daughter was forced to use them as we only got two pillows not in the same pillow covering.

The motel was not attached to the main hotel, it was three blocks down, why was this not disclosed in the booking? I don't know. I booked a room next to our friends, they decided to move us and we were had to go up and down stairs to sit and talk which was not okay with us since we booked 4 months in advance and selected the location.

The breakfast at the main restaurant was about as slow as you could ever find. They locked people out, never letting us know we could go in. I tried to open the door because it said "open". They saw me trying, never came to the door and then let two other families in but they had to ask after waiting in line for 30 minutes. The whole food experience was embarrassingly bad.

I would not recommend this place, not under any circumstances and frankly the fact that they pulled a bait and switch on us is very upsetting.

Hi Stephen, I'm sorry the room you booked on our website did not meet your standards. Though I do not agree with your review, I do wish we were aware of your disappointment of the room during your stay as we certainly could've addressed this. Regarding the restaurant, we have limited indoor dining due to COVID and can only have a certain amount of people in the restaurant at a time. I apologize if there was a wait; it is a popular restaurant and I'm assuming there was a line. With all Sincerity.

We visited this hotel five years ago in the off season and had a great time. The beach is beautiful and we love that they welcome dogs. We stayed in the same room this time and things have gone downhill. The room was gross. The bedsheets didn’t seem like they had been changed, they were yellowed and the sheet wasn’t even tucked in. Over the bed was a large stain from a leak that looked like it had been painted over and reappeared several times. The couch had a blanket over it to hide something and there were cigarette stains in the blanket. The ac unit is filthy and sprays dust into the room. Also the writing on the buttons is worn away so using the ac s a guessing game. There is no shower curtain and the tiny towels have to be used to sop up the water. The bathroom sink was cracked which I remember from five years ago and still has not been fixed. The tv remote is being held together with a rubber band. This is all on top of just a dirty feeling in the room. It’s a shame that someplace in such a great location has decided not to maintain the property. We almost left a day early and checked at a few other places for last minute availability. Giving it 2/5 rating only because of the beach but the property itself is miserable.
